Hey Guys,
I really enjoy your podcast - I've been listening since episode one, but never been the biggest fan of Pathfinder before. It always seemed too mechanical, so it's good to hear it played by people who come to it from a very creative place.
On a couple of episodes (particularly the Halloween special), you've hinted that one of your team (Alex?) is very particular about his podcasting setup - I was wondering if you'd be willing to share it as I'm hoping to start a podcast myself (don't worry - not a competitor!), and it strikes me as being the kind of thing where it's very easy to spend a lot of money on something which isn't especially good!
Cheers for any advice,
Neil

Hi Neil, I would say it is not worth going into the setup that we use as it is super specific for actual plays but if you tell me some context ie what kind of podcast it is and where you are recording, eg. On site, in a studio, on your roof... I can certainly pass on some advice.

RL and I keep coming back to the idea of doing a podcast of some description, but so far our ideas haven't been particularly catchy.
Most of our collective knowledge is specialised trivia that goes well for pub quizzes (for my birthday last year we pounded back three pints to 'level the playing field' before a pub quiz and won with a round to spare). Not sure how that converts into a podcast that entertains anyone but ourselves...

Heck. Send me a pitch document and you never know, we could add it to the Rusty Quill Network . (No promises though.)

I'll chat to RL about it when I see him next, between the two of us we could do a Great and Terrible game show.

I would happily be a contestant.

I would happily be a contestant. Assuming RL and I ever get this past just talking about it, and then manage to tick all the other boxes and step every step... that would be literally the best thing to ever happen.

I appeared in a geeky comedy quiz show up in edinburgh called devil's advocate a few times, whilst I was there performing with fat kitten. It was so much fun.

(I've always wanted a pub quiz style podcast)

RL in particular is likely to go for "fiendishly tricky" as standard. He was here for about an hour between finishing work and heading out to see his S.O. but he's already brewing ideas, some of which probably violate the Geneva Convention.

If you give me a style for the questions, I may be able to set a couple. I'm imagining something a bit like the News Quiz where there are questions, but people riff off the question instead of just trying to answer and win? (I would have given QI as an example, but I'm certainly can't give questions that well researched!)
