Well, I certainly know I have some after that episode! And it definitely gave me chills, despite listening during the day and a well-lit room. I'm hoping everyone else's ears pricked up when the name of one of the patients was revealed but what may come of it?
We'll have to keep our eyes open, I guess...

oh god that eye at then end! that defiantly made me uneasy!
so I had to go back and listen to Epidose 4 again (Page Turner), once the second burn victim was described having dyed black hair I knew exactly who they were talking about!
Timeline wise for Jarad (sp?): 2008: first thing we have is his mothers death in 2008, she was found dead after a pain killer overdose, however her skin had been peeled off and hung to dry, with marking on it made in sans script. Jared was under trial for murder, however some evidence was deemed equitable (interesting!) 2011: We then have a statement from Lesere Saraki (sp?) discussing events that happened late December 2011 (statement written Feb 11th 2012) where Jarad was brought in to hospital almost completely burned. things of note, he asks about a pendant and a small book bound in red leather, he has eye tattoos across his body and he is discharged into his mothers care (who has been dead for 3 years). 2012: Then we have Jared (and his [dead] mother) turning up in at the end of 2012 (the winter of 2012, with the statement entered June 28th 2013) when Dominic Swane finds one or Jorgan Lightner's (sp?) books in the charity shop. interesting things of note, Jared states that 'his mother doesn't always know what's best for my family' and when picking up the hot waste paper basket he said 'I've had worse'. also obviously the painting hung up in his mothers bookshop of the eye that she said he painted. 2015: Jonathan Sims states that Jared Keys passed away from a brain tumour late last year(which I imagine hes speaking from present day so thought that would be 2015)
that's all I have found so far about the elusive Jared... perhaps I should have been actually doing my work while in the office ... ah well nevermind!
my question is, wouldn't the hospital have record that his mother passed away? woudnt they have a certificate of death on record? how did he get released into her care?

Wow. That's amazing!
I can't wait to find out a bit more about Juergen Leitner by the way...

I'm also thinking the stuff about the eyes may also tie in to the serial killer episode, particularly the silver pendant with the "symbol meant to represent a closed eye" which Mr Sims says relates to the 80s cult called People's Church of the Divine Host.

At last! Something spooky in a healthcare environment. Mind you, that environment is spooky enough. Given the numbers of people who have died in hospitals- especially in the older parts of our hospitals- the places are stuffed with ghosts. Pretty much every nurse who has done a night shift can tell you about specutural goings-on... patches of cold air, a half-seen glimpse from the corner of an eye, a shadow hanging over a fatally ill patient's bed... The eeriest time is 2am-4am. That's the witching hour, and when most people chornically unwell seem to die. It's the darkest part of the night, when the fire at the cave mouth dies down and there is very little (if anything) between you and sharp teeth in the dark beyond...

This is awesome. Re-occurring threads and timelines and plot/character developments! So glad there are other passionate listeners! I haven't done my re-listen, but mostly cause if I do more than two at once I'm on edge for hours!!

I went through a binge of editing about 6 one after another for about 4 days. It did... Weird things to me when combined with sleep debt.

I binged the 2nd season of the Unbreakable Kimmy Shmitd and had some weird dreams about kidnapping into cults. I think I'll leave my Magnus Binge within daylight hours... It's scares so good...

I once binged on Narnia stories and also 'The Never Ending Story' while travelling on the enclosed space of the London underground tubes. I got some weird shitty dreams for that. Seems like focus on one thing in a short, sharp period creates a definite mental unhingement. It's like a shortcut to lucid dreaming, but without the control lucid dreaming brings, because that bad boy takes some time to master, no shortcuts allowed!

The eye tattos being unburned on the lad's body... reminded me of the Seargent's speech about a friend's tattoo in 'Dog Soldiers'...
Eddie Oswald, soldier, while drunk, visited a tattoo parlour with his seargent. Whilst the seargent got a tattoo of a desert rat, Eddie proclaimed that, although his soul belonged to god, his flesh was irredeemable and belonged to Satan. Thus, he got a tattoo of a laughing Satan right smack on his rear. About six days later, when the group were performing a regular sweep along the border, cleaning up after pockets of resistance, Eddie accidently set off an anti-tank mine, and blew himself up. Almost nothing of Eddie remained, and the other men had to scoop his pulped up bits of flesh into bin bags. The only perfect, unscathed part of Eddie's body that survived the blast was the skin off his buttock, with the tattoo of Satan. As his seargent puts it; "so you could say that Eddie was right, Satan did indeed save his skin, just not all of it. Or you could say that Eddie was just unlucky. Either way, it taught me to keep a very open mind. "

*Minor spoilers for some later episodes*
*Apologies for thread necromancy*
I always thought it was weird that Lesere made note that Gerard's coat was new, and with his appearance in MAG35, also in a leather coat, I think it's safe to say that he either keeps that coat in unnaturally good condition, or he buys lots of them. That's an expensive collection, though I suppose less so for a man who can literally burn £5000...

*more thread necromancy* Have we considered the possibility that the other man was Jurgen Leitner?

I certainly hadn't! For reference, Leitner vanished in 1995, 6 years before this statement took place.

St Mary's Church is Marlybone, which, if Monopoly is to be believed, goes with the sort of classy area Leitner tends to stay in...
