No need to thank us for voting when it's you who've put all the fantastic efforts into making the podcasts. Other than that, Doktor Payne has said everyhting I wanted to say. So thank YOU

Thank you so much once again to everyone who nominated and voted and voted for us for these awards.
Alas, this wasn't to be our year in either category but we are thrilled by the way the community rallied to our calls and hopefully the nominations bode well for our future endeavours! We have a lot of plans for coming year, so stick around and we're sure you'll enjoy what's to come from Rusty Towers.
*HUGS* to everybody!

I enjoyed the process, a little bit miffed at some of the shenanigans of some other podcasts and the awarder though - it rendered some of the reward for going back to vote every day a little bitter. Could have been handy in the last big vote I took part in Still, I'm a member of the RQ 14 votes club and dodgy tactics, reffing, and IT skills can't take that away from me or you.

I hereby claim the right, alongside other true Rusties, to wear ridiculously massively oversized hats at any or all RQ based or tangentially related meetings or functions.

I enjoyed the process, a little bit miffed at some of the shenanigans of some other podcasts and the awarder though - it rendered some of the reward for going back to vote every day a little bitter. What shenanigans are these? As best as I can tell, several other (larger) podcasts banded together and built a tool that highlighted a specific podcast in each category when a person was voting - people still had to click on each one they were voting for and still had to enter legit details to confirm that vote, but because people are people they block voted for all of the suggested (even ones that they very probably didn't even listen to). It wasn't technically against the rules, but was very much against the spirit of the thing. Not all of the winning podcasts were involved in the scheme - but all of them did benefit from the large audiences of other podcasts giving them free votes. For myself, I voted for four podcasts every day - RQG, TMA, The History Chicks and Common Sense by Dan Carlin. I did it completely manually and with love for each of them, but my votes only counted as much as some random throwaway vote by someone who'd never listened to the competing podcast in each category. None of my four won (Common Sense not winning the politics category really astounded me). As Alex says though - being nominated is amazing in its own right. And as I say - they can't take away my legitimate and dedicated love for my four podcasts. Check out the Podcast Awards Twitter feed if you want to see people get up on their hilariously high horses, I'm going to serenely rise above.

And isn't pretty much every single thing you do in life RQ based or tangentially related?

Whilst it may seem that way (hooray for being the digital face of RQ??), I think Alex pretty much edges me out on that latter point
