Did you listen to the original tracks or the Glee versions? This is a very important question.

I promise i haven't lost any respect for you. I never deserved your respect anyway. This is how most people react when they find out about my taste in music (or movies).

I have a whole bunch of random stuff I listen to (much of it terrible). I used to call my taste 'eclectic', but I think that makes it sound far too refined and classy. There are four too many letters (none of them the right ones).

I wouldn't say Eurovision is a genre, in so much as it is a force of nature. I love me a bit of Eurovision!
For me, I'm pretty easy going with music and listen to a variety of things, from Placebo to Robbie Williams to electro trance I find online (great to work to, drowns out all the background noise and fire alarms just add to it).
That said, my go-to music tends to be rock and metal, really into Metallica and Coheed & Cambria and have been for a while.

I've started listening to the Hamilton soundtrack over the past few days, and although I would never consider that style of music to be my thing, I'm really liking it!
Generally most of the time I listen to instrumental music. So a lot os film/tv/video game music along with other instrumental stuff not from those. Some of my favouries are Two Steps From Hell, John Dreamer, Epic Score, Audiomachine, Murray Gold and Hans Zimmer. Some speciffic soundtracks that I like are Atonement, How to Train your Dragon, the Tudors, Merlin etc.
A lot of my favourie pieces though I don't know much about since I mainly listen to music through 8tracks which isn't the most reliable source of correct notations of artists and composers.

There are four too many letters (none of them the right ones). I'm writing all the right letters, but not necessarily in the right order!

I promise i haven't lost any respect for you. I never deserved your respect anyway. This is how most people react when they find out about my taste in music (or movies). One of the things I really try to promote in my own work is that music is for everyone regardless of training etc. Whilst I might make jokes about pop music, the second date I took my partner on was a performance which included a half hour piece where people occasionally dropped pebbles and dead leaves on the floor. I reasoned that if she could stand that we'd be ok (4 years this month!). Based on that, I don't think I can really criticise anyone else's taste.

Not a member of the Tower, nor affiliated in any way, but I've started listening to a group called The Mechanisms.

Going to necro this thread because 1.) music, 2.) curious and 3.) bored. My music taste is all over the place. There are a few genres I'm generally more fond of, but if I like a song I couldn't care less about what it's called. So my list includes stuff from metal over classic to weird indefinable things. Folk/medieval rock/metal is a favorite and I like songs with humorous text; these two often go quite well together. Here are some folk rock songs : InExtremo - Gold; Spielmannsfluch Týr - Ramund hin UngeCorvus Corax - Mit Dans Is All Die Werlt Genesen Faun - Oyneng Yar TANZWUT - Der Himmel brennt ASP - Werben Heather Dale - Mordred's Lullaby Estampie - A Voi Gente Some metal songs: Narjahanam - Hushood AlNar Al-Namrood - Atba'a Al-Namrood Dr. Steel - The SingularityMore mainstream: Kovacs - Diggin Seinabo Sey - Hard TimeLondon Grammar - Strong Seeed - Ding Sezen Aksu - İhanetten Geri Kalan The Black Keys - Lonely Boy Erykah Badu - On OnI also like oriental music: Sidi Mansour - Allah Allah Ya Baba Satinder Sartaj - Sai And music that explores what things are possible with voice alone and different instruments are very interesting for me: THePETEBOX - Shalom2CELLOS - Thunderstruck And last but not least, funny music. Still good even without understanding the text: Knorkator - Böse Versengold - Immer schön nach unten treten
About 15 years ago I was singing with the choir from our city and three from neighboring towns the Carmina Burana, four performances total, with the second tenors. Was quite stressful for me, but a very interesting experience. Wouldn't do it again, though. <__< Back then I had memorized all songs, forgot them now, though. Still, nice music. Carl Orff - O Fortuna

I like a lot of different music, and am constantly looking for more. My favorite genres are indie rock, indie electronica, and old school goth/post-punk.
Lately I’ve been digging HEALTH, Slothrust, and Cocteau Twins, though my favorite band of all time is probably Modest Mouse.
I’m a semi-professional dancer, so anything with a lot of drama and variance to it is precious to me.

My current musical taste is comprised of only Fall Out Boy and Taylor Swift. Both of whom I am seeing live this year! I am very excited.

Did anyone else see their 'most listened to' data from Spotify at the end of last year? One of my top 5 songs was Evanescence Bring Me to Life and that made me so happy , still an emo teen at heart
