Regarding Trevor, didn't his report state that the Vampires never spoke? Possibly the nurse was a vampire, but the doctor definitely spoke right? And the weird rash doesn't match the description we were given of the vampire attacks from before... I wonder if the old man was related to Trevor, in some way? Although we know his brother was killed. I'm equally dubious that it's Trevor, but I'm not sure why Jonathan would mention it (good shout by the way, Kae about Jonathan and Jonny!). Y'know who the old man and younger lady reminds me of? Simon Fairchild and Harriet from MAG 21: Freefall. It's possible that the scar happened after 2002, when MAG 21 took place. Although I'm not set on that. Did we ever find out who Simon Fairchild was a pseudonym of? I'm sure we've talked about it here on the forums, but I can't remember exactly. Does anyone have a medical background who might know what the rash could be, or what normally causes yellowy rashes? You're right, we never did hear anything about who Simon Fairchild was a pseudonym of - which makes me feel rather clever about my point about the meta above - the information we're getting is unreliable thanks to the story format being unreliable. As for the rash, I'm just going to assume that's what happens when a bunch of flies eat you from the inside...

I agree with Kea on the yellow skin. I did some searches for yellow rashes and it pretty much came up blank. Rashes are usually red through to purple. Yellow skin can be caused by jaundice, a variety of liver problems, Weil's disease... the only thing I've found that could be relevant is Xanthomata which is caused by build-ups of lipids under the skin. I suppose that it could be described as a yellow rash. It's usually caused by cancer, diabetes or blocked bile ducts (which also causes yellow skin)

another wonderful episode... I listened to it whilst driving past freshly manured fields which just added to the experiance... I heartily agree that we have an unreliable narrator on our hands and for me that just making the journey more fun... Mr Sims (author) really is doing a bang up job at not only bringing us fresh tales at an almost breakneck speed but also tying in the larger mystery of whats happening in the archives and the outside world filtered through the Archivists biased and narrow world view... It hadn't occured to me until reading through this thread that there may be something 'wrong' with the archivist and he might be as much a part of the archives catalog as that fancy table that just got delivered... a very interesting thought.

As an aside, life being describe as a "brief holiday from non-existence" is oddly comforting. Beautiful turn of phrase as well.
That being said I doubt Jane Prentiss would describe her current existence as a holiday.

Oh god. My mind. So these recording could be just that. Recordings... It might be too late and we're just listening to someone playback all these tapes to get to the bottom of whatever is going to come...?

Just commenting as someone who spent over a decade working in the funeral industry, the writing was superb. Either Mr. S has been in the industry himself or knows someone who has.
No-one outside funeral circles would refer to collecting someone as a 'removal', most people pluralise 'cremoartorim' as 'crematoriums', the correct being 'crematoria'.
I too wonder how these episodes can be put out with such frequency and quality.

These implications are INCORRECT - we are one NORMAL HUMAN with 0-4 limbs and a single head for our eyes as is APPROPRIATE. Any sticky purple liquid found around the recordings you receive is NORMAL JAM. All is well and normal. DISREGARD THE NOISES.

Sooo, as much as I hate to do this again... the statement is dated 11/19/2012, and the fire occurred on 04/07/2011. I think I assumed that it occurred a few months prior, so I put it down in the wiki timeline as occurring in 2012, because that's normally the timeframe from event to statement. I can't relisten thoroughly right now, but am I right in thinking that Nicole waited over a year to make her statement?

Fire occured in September, so 04.09.2011, and the statement was given 14 months later. Given the subject lives in Manchester this is not necessarily suspicious.

Incidentally, Jonny, when was the last time you told us when something *was* suspicious? ;P But yes, thank you for the quick clarification, the timeline is now correct! (Y)

Why do you need those dates, WHO/WHAT ARE YOU WORKING FOR!?
