Hi Guys,
Good to see the forum up and running albeit with less togas than I'd like. I'm Alex the podcast host, cheers to all of you for jumping in. If there's one thing the tech world has taught us its that early adopters get all of the benefits with no teething problems whatsoever. At all.
Glad people are already giving Ben stick about the leg. (Pun totally intended.) Although I will chip in and say I asked all of the cast to be as flavorful as possible without getting too complex in their builds early on. Thus... peg leg, apparently.
I will be less frequent than our good moderator Brave Sir Robin and our community manager... who should be making an appearance imminently.
Any issues, be sure to let us know. We may not be able to help but we are brilliant at commiserating. We'll commiserate with you SO hard.

Hey all! I just stumbled on the podcast and have listened to the first couple of episodes. So far? I'm totally loving it! I've only played 4e and 5e (out of the DnD and DnD esque systems) so far, but am currently looking into setting up a Pathfinder game since, upon further research, it has a lot of features that look like I'll prefer them. Anyway, please please keep up the good work, and I'll do my part by throwing it at all the RPG fans in my life Thank you so much for the kind words, and welcome to the forum. :-) Word of mouth is a very big deal for us, so we love that some of our fans are spreading the word. I've played a lot of systems in my time and Pathfinder is definitely one of my favourites - it's a step up from D&D 3.5, which I also loved. I played D&D 4th and hated it, I haven't played 5th, but I've heard good things. I can definitely recommend pathfinder if you're a fan of D20 based systems in general though. My only piece of advice is to stay away from grappling.

I reckon it's about time I added my own "Hello!" to this thread. Now that it's 2 pages in it's only a little embarrassing that I'm introducing myself as Stefan, the Community Manager (the capitals make it look more important) for Rusty Quill! Yes, I am the one who fills up your twitter feed and pesters you on facebook. Fear my use of social media. More importantly though, any questions you guys have about Rusty Quill I will answer and do it quickly (sobriety permitting), whether it be via facebook, twitter, email, forum or carrier pigeon. Glad to see so many people enjoying the podcast!

I like characters to have their backstories reflected in the way the character plays, helps me to think of them as people with histories as opposed to having been spun into existence half an hour before the campaign begins Also I thought it would be able to create a recurring sense of peril, without rendering the character unplayable.

Hello! I'm Connor. Been listening to the podcast since the first episode and I'm really enjoying it so far! I've only ever played a small amount of 4th edition D&D and loved what little we did manage to get though, but our group quickly fell apart due to infighting and plague (maybe not the latter) so I understand the basics although I have to say it's been really helpful having the rules etc. explained along the way. I tried to listen to a similar podcasts/shows but found them a bit inaccessible (and just between us, not as funny as you guys ). So I just wanted to say hi, and to let you know that I'm really enjoying what you guys are doing, keep it up.

Welcome, and thank you for your kind words. I know a lot of rp groups that have fallen apart due to a lack of cohesion. It's one of the things I worked really hard on before the campaign started, and I'd really like to do a metacast in how to start a successful campaign.

Hey Connor, glad you are enjoying it and sad to hear your 4th Ed. experience got a bit infighty. It can happen. Yeah, we noticed that a lot of the gaming podcasts seem to be made more for the people playing than the people listening so that's why we try to go slow and make sure we can explain the system to people who haven't played before. There is a decent amount of difference between 4th Ed. D&D and Pathfinder so hopefully this will be fresh enough for you to be interesting.

Hi, So many Bens! I also am not a fan of the no capitalisation in usernames! > Anyway just wanted to say my "omg this is really good" comment. One of my favourite things is the subtle background noises that really give it a polished and integrated feel. Except the squelching mould that was gross :/ At some point would love to get to see some of you guys' other performances like the comedy shows and stuff so I'll keep an eye out for them. Meanwhile, keep up the good work! P.s. Hi Bryn you can probably work out who I am

Hi! Yet another ben. :-)
The no capitalisation thing is a bit sad, it seems to be just part of the forum set up though. Not something we can decide on or change.
My favourite thing about the podcast has definitely been the background noise. It changes it so much from just a simple roleplaying game to something so much more.
If you do fancy going along to a James Ross comedy show at some point, let me know. We can probably head there together and drag some others along too.

Hmmmm, I don't think the capitalisation thing is the problem I thought it was...

Aha! It seems that you can't have capitals or spaces when creating your name but can change it afterwards. Good stuff.
