And another book rears its pages from out of the archives. Is this a 'Leitner' and/or do we have to start thinking about his library in a different light? And what does this say about predestination in the Magnus-verse - do you think Masato managed to outrun his scribed fate? A somewhat graphic creepypasta tale today, building on a classic horror trope of the 'knowing book' and whether you work against or accept the fate that ink decries. And we're now in the countdown to the Season 2 finale - what threads do you think are going to come together for this end? What conflicts might be resolved? What questions do you think will find their answers? Hypotheses in a statement to the Institute, please

When is the finale? Ep 80, I guess? I'm not sure, I don't know if we'll have an explosive conclusion of one storyline like we did with Jane Prentiss, although I hope so. If so, I think it'll be spider related (sorry, Oneiros!) due to how much they're appearing at the moment. I'm not sure that the entity in the tunnels will be resolved any time soon.
That said, maybe it would be Not-Sasha's resolution, that's been underplaying the whole series so far. I watch Sasha back!
Also, apologies to those who use the wiki - I've been pretty busy with real life stuff and they are both a bit underloved at present. I'm hoping to really update the Magnus one in the future with extra pages and community-conspiracy pages, but we'll see.

Oh dear, our archivist has not only been down in the tunnels again, he's actually explored the entire accessible first level and started poking around the second. I hope he's not careening toward a bad end.

Has there been any follow-up on the lighter that was delivered to Jonathan at the end of season 1? I don't think it's been mentioned since Jonathan's asking into where it could've come from, and I can see how he might've forgotten about it what with the worm attack and Gertrude's body turning up. But I have to think it'll be key here somehow. It's a lighter with a spider logo on it, and considering that the fire cult and the spiders seem to be at odds (or at least connected somehow), it seems significant. But is it a tool that will help or harm the Institute? Could it be useful for killing spiders, or is it an object of infiltration like the table that replaced Sasha?

I hope he's not careening toward a bad end. "Careening toward a bad end" could be the tagline of the series, to be honest.

I personally think "Why won't anyone enjoy Martin's Tea any more?" is more apt.

Statement is given September 2003, Phillip's death occurs in August 2003... Masato mentions that his pondering on mortality inspired by the death was "back in February". Am I missing something?
