Happy holidays folks! We'll rejoin events in Prague in January, letting LOLOMG have a well-earned winter break, as we bring you the first of two #RQGaming specials. In this first one, I join the crew to indulge in a little light Fiasco, by Jason Morningstar. You can find out ore about this improvisational/rules-light game over at Bully Pulpit Games and if anyone is interested in the adapted playset we're using here, let us know and I'll see about posting it. For those familiar with the game, we did have to shorten the number of rounds played to make the game fit the time we had. From a personal perspective, this was a huge amount of fun and I thoroughly recommend it if you're looking for more improv in your games or even if you're looking to see how improv games can be brought to the table. The guided structure provides a great framework to hang these kinds of ludicrous narratives from and everyone has a hand in that. Have any of you played Fiasco before? Any good calamities to share? Did you end up walking into the sunset unscathed? Let us know!

Given we only had a single round of scenes, I don't know quite how well this shows off fiasco in all it's twisted glory. From what I recall though, next week's episode very much delivers on the promise.

This was a fun special! I like the relationship-first character construction idea, and I'm looking forward to seeing how things play in the second half. Also, the accents were endearingly terrible.

the accents were endearingly terrible. You misspelt “literally perfect in every way”

This might be my favourite non-Pathfinder RQG section so far. Janice On Ice made my jaw clench in horror. I think I might have to try out Fiasco

I truly, profoundly hate Janice on Ice. She’s just the worst.

We conclude our Fiasco... On Ice! holiday special - we hope you enjoyed it, even if it did end up in a very bleak place. But then, this is Fiasco, the odds of coming out with a happy ending are quite low - especially if you don't have a large dice pool On a personal note, this was a blast to play & record. I am inordinately pleased in getting to break Ben & Bryn with the 'Rogers and Hammerstein' set-up

Before: Oh, it can't be that bad...
After: ... what is WRONG with you all?!

Before: Oh, it can't be that bad... After: ... what is WRONG with you all?! In our defence this is the sort of story Fiasco encourages.

I truly, profoundly hate Janice on Ice. She’s just the worst. Is this because she's so similar to all the characters you have played in all the previous one-shots?

It really was. Even more so once the soundscaping was added.
