Do people listen to/watch much else in the same genre as RQG? I am not hugely familiar with what's out there. It'd be great to see what others are doing if people have recommendations.
I've been a fan of Felicia Day, Wil Wheaton, Geek and Sundry and TableTop for a while, though I don't consume all their output. Geek and Sundry host a rp video podcast called Critical Role, which I've been very impressed by when I've seen it. TableTop just span off a new rp show called TitansGrave : Ashens of Valkana which seems to be generating some good buzz. Anyone seen it yet?

Not seen any of those - need to do a general Geek & Sundry binge, since I'm only really familiar with Spellslingers. One I would recommend as a self-contained vidcast/podcast 'campaign' is Loading Ready Run's "Temple of the Lava Bears" (D&D 5E) which I've just finished watching. Really interesting to see the way Jeremy handles it and it has a similar level of camaraderie to RQG. The 9 PC finale is quite something from just a logistics perspective! Edit: Here's a direct link: loadingreadyrun.com/lrrcasts/archive/bears/date/desc/_

Thanks, I'll try and check that out. I only know LRR from their magic content, which I find fun, if a bit variable in quality. I know you're a fan of their work in general though.

I've heard some very good things about Friends At The Table, they're playing through a Dungeon World campaign at the moment; friendsatthetable.podbean.com/

I recommend Critical Hit by Major Spoilers, a long running 4e campaign. Some of the best worldbuilding and roleplaying I've ever come across. Pretty damn funny sometimes, too

This thread may rapidly become my favorite at this rate. I can feel my geek glands swelling with precious trope mucus.

Have been catching up on ashes of valkana from geek and sundry. Very impressed, they're doing a bit of what we do, but with a much much bigger budget. I don't think they are as funny as us though. ;-)

I'll make people a deal. If they hurl enormous amounts of cash our way I promise to remain funny.
I have been listening to Sans Pants Radio recently and they just launched a new RPG podcast "D&D is for Nerds." Its super loose and fast, but I am not sure how much staying power it has. They sort of come across like they are mocking the game rather than playing it.

I've also been hungrily listening through a lot of other actual plays recently (definitely not sizing up the competition ) and I can heartily recommend both The Adventure Zone, which is an incredibly casual, silly and entertaining D&D 5th Ed game. And One-Shot: Campaign - which is an (again reasonably casual) very silly Star Wars: Edge of the Empire game run by a group of Chicago Improvvers.

Other than The rusty Quill, the main RPG podcast I listen to is Board with Life who are currently 13 episodes into a 5th edition D&D campaign. They also recently finished a playthrough of The Lost Mine of Phandelver (from the 5e starter set).
Since I've only recently got into podcasts, the only other ones I listen to at the moment are 'Godsfall' and 'd6mafia' which are both 5e D&D but I can't say anything because I've only listened to a few episodes of each so far.

This thread has made me so happy... So much to look into!
Titans Grave is one of the main reasons I've started trying to get into RPGs. I design kids games for a living (so started watching Table Top for entertainment/ideas) and they did a mini-quest Role play episode (using the Titans grave dice mechanic) - I started watching it and then came out on the other side of the binge completely inspired. Really compelling storytelling and made me fall in love Wil Weaton...
I've also been listening to The Adventure Zone, and just Campaign Podcast (Star Wars) I end up getting through a lot of content at my desk...
Adventure Zone is very loose and silly, but by comparison to D&D is for nerds (which I've had to stop listening to as it was just annoying me) the characters are just mostly stupid rather than them not taking the game seriously, the campaigns are interesting and they've started doing a thing where they name their NPCs after people on their Twitter fans *hint hint*

I'm really good at the discretion thing... And yeah, it's pretty cool, I like it - but it's all basic games for 2-6 year olds... They're really into farms and dinosaurs... Trying to propose a role play thing for the under 5s might be too much...

You should look into "once upon a time." Collective story telling accessible to little kids using colourful cards.
