OR: "Deliverance"The Archivist heads to Newcastle to an abandoned Breekon and Hope depot, only to find Elias has left him a little present. Then it's back to London with Daisy to stake out another key location in Barnet. He certainly seems to be taking the field trips aspect of Elias' wishes to heart, then... Chilling details on the mysterious Breekon & Hope from both sides of the equation as we hear from the original Breekon (Breekon Prime?) as control of his own company seems to slip away until only one delivery remains. And does anyone else get vibes of the crate from MAG066 ("Held in Customs") from that final box, or is it just me? And then we have the unlikely pairing of Archivist & Daisy as partners in 'crime' as they come face to face with one of the 'Edinburgh Six' in the shape of Sarah Baldwin and learn something of Gertrude's past actions. But in doing so have they alerted the Stranger or its agents to confusion at the Archives? Ah, the Circus entertainments, they continue...

Le magnifique! Excellent creepiness in this episode. And again a mentioning of how nice talking to or writing down a statement for an Archivist feels. The vibe is definitely there, but the bites from the inside out don't fit with this. I guess it's more the compulsion to open these crates despite knowing one will die in a really bad way if one does. Same with the crate in #2 Do Not Open. Hearing these two working together (more or less) was fun. Jon still needs to learn not to give information to enemies, though. Efficient intel gathering is not a quit pro quo thing. That the Stranger servants think the skin is in the Archive explains why Not!Sasha searched through the artifacts and the infiltration and attacks of them in general. I wonder how bad it is that they learned that it's somewhere else? And what exactly is 'the oldest skin'? Is it the skin of the first victim of the Stranger, way back to Homo erectus times or even longer? The skin of the first servant? Humans have a bad habit of fearing (and hating) the unknown and 'other'-looking. Was it someone who looked different enough to human ancestors that their general reaction of this otherness first attracted and invoked the Stranger in the first place? Or the hatred these reactions provoked in the 'skin-owner' to wish something like the Stranger to snatch as many people as possible to end them horribly? So many questions... (Also, yay for rank climbing my way to annoy everyone with my persistent presence! )

Found a very interesting post on the sub-reddit about Gorillas that changed my view on the 'oldest skin'. Link to it here. Crossposting what I said there in case people want to talk here as well.
