OR: "Working Time Directives"We're back! Season 3 kicks off - and almost forgets the cliffhanger from the end of S2. Plus Grizzop gives a more succinct update to Azu than the nearly 2hrs of backstory in last week's recap. We should have just run that excerpt, really But the difficulties just seem to keep piling up for poor Hamid, much like the sand in the streets of Cairo, Grizzop's temporal philosophy gets another airing and Sasha... well, this wouldn't be an Alex-run show if the misery didn't just end up getting compounded. So now we have a time limit - a month to fix Sasha. Or maybe not - perhaps she can embrace undeath? redeath? as a dagger-wielding force for goodness? And what does Barratt want with Hamid's brother? And who deserves Azu's justice the most? Our Egyptian mysteries are just beginning...

Yeah it wouldn't be Alex if nice thing happend to the party 😉.
But just one thought: Wouldn't Sasha be even more sneaky as a lich? That could be handy 🙃.
And I really want so see what Alex has in store for Hamid's brother.

Ha, that was fantastic again! Poor Azu, declaring her loyalty/marriage to the worst drama-family. The way Grizzop always speaks about and to Fairhans(?) is hilarious! So little respect for the self-declared 'best healer'. But he's right, second opinions are better in case of undead-endangering treatments. XD A Rogue-Lich would be really interesting! And as Hamid said, there's no need to become more evil. Traditionally Lichs are evil, magical creatures because they were evil Mages/Necromancers who achieved Lich-dom by horrific rituals. Sasha's transformation was very different. Can't wait to see how this goes! And I foresee this ring business not going down as harmless as Hamid hopes. Halflings and problematic rings, man... Oh, also, pretty sure it might come up in the next fight scene, but I forgot to ask - what kind of armor is Azu wearing? Leather, Plate, other?

Grizzop is hilarious as a character. Grizzop's humour is exactly my humour. Sometimes while listening I catch myself thinking about some remark and then Grizzop just says it. So yeah, Ben has my humour as Grizzop.

(Strange to think that this has been not at all long ago in game.)

And I really hope Alex does not totally crack Hamid. If Hamid gets any more stressed I do not know, if he can keep it all together.

Erm, seeing what Bryn said about that in the Q&A, I think there's a lot to come yet. Wouldn't surprise me. They still have to get to the funeral. And who knows what else is up? Since the banking system isn't working anymore, Hamid's family is in big trouble. It's what they do after all. And then the ring...

I know, but I fear for Hamid's mental health if everything comes down in the span of a few days.

Azu continues to be The Best. (Everyone else is also The Best, of course; I will happily misuse superlatives where it's merited!) Still totally on board this runaway train after Grizzop's recap? Yeah, she's definitely crazy enough to run with this crew.
Poor Sasha needs all the hugs, but that would put me in stabbing range, so I'll leave that to someone with a higher AC than me. I'm not super up on liches, but are they limited in how they can interact with the physical world? 'Cause I can't imagine Sasha accepting even the sneakiest of new lives if it means she can't nick stuff.

They're just as corporeal as any zombie or skeleton. The main thing that's different and makes them so dangerous (beside their magic) is that they bind their soul to a phylactery of some sort. Whenever their physical form is destroyed, the phylactery causes them to be resurrected. This means one has to find and destroy the phylactery first (ideally), otherwise the Lich will come back indefinitely. Interestingly there is a star named Lich. This pulsar has three planets named Draugr, Poltergeist and Phobetor.

But what would be Sashas phylactery? One of her 14 daggers?

But what would be Sashas phylactery? One of her 14 daggers? That's the thing - does she have or even need one? We don't know yet whether a Lich is the correct comparison. Just because Fairhans said so doesn't mean he's right. Alex's mind is a wonderfully twisted thing! But if she is becoming Lich-like, then she's already very unique in every way. For one, she never was a magic user and probably won't have any magic once the transformation is complete. As far as I understand it, turning into a Lich is the goal of all the rituals that require the phylactery in the first place and then in turn make it such a highly useful item for the Lich's existence. But I think Sasha wouldn't need one since the transformation was so different. Or Mr. Ceiling did make one for her and it's still somewhere in Mr. Ceiling's complex? If that's the case, then Sasha would be resurrected wherever it is should she die. Or rather, if her current body is killed. That would be a very confusing awakening.
