My husband hasn't listened to the last two episodes yet but brought up something when he caught up to this one; it was mentioned that Hamid's sister has a husband, was he at the funeral and why didn't we get that super awkward conversation? I'm pretty sure if one of my siblings died and I was somehow possibly involved their wife or husband would be all over discussing it with me.

I totally forgot about the mention of the husband. Maybe he did not want to talk to Hamid and avoid akward conversations?

I was also wondering about this. Also, it was about 3 nights since she died? (I think they spent one night at the hotel, and one night at Aphrodite's temple, and one night at the Al Tahans) I know the party teleported, but if he didnt teleport over, it might take him longer than that to get there? and thats quite a short turn around for a funeral? (actually did some research and apparently England holds funerals much later than other countries) but still, they should have waited for her husband to arrive?
It is also possible that they talked outside of the episodes, and it just wasn't mentioned.

So I think Alex Newall probably just forgot - and Hamid would have been more focused on his immediate family. I assumed that the husband teleported back to cairo with the body, but obviously that didn't come up in game.

Fair enough, he does have a lot of other things to keep track of!

I was kind of hopeful maybe Hamid's brother-in-law was just not a jerk about it and there were some awkward eye contact moments but nothing of note. Like, somebody in the family could maybe not be an emotional train wreck waiting to happen, but if anybody is it would be the spouse.

See, we mentioned it so now if a letter suddenly arrives causing poor Hamid more heartbreak I'll feel bad for mentioning it. That high charisma and naturally adorable charm doesn't seem to be helping him in the emotional aftermath lately.

I feel like a father who hides all emotion behind a mask, and being taught how to talk to people in polite society has led to Hamid being wonderful at working other people, but not very emotionally mature himself

Hamid is clearly brilliant at reading people, but I feel like he's managed to sidestep the borderline sociopathic tendency of most high level business owners and is willing to debate fairly instead of gaslight and goad that you see in modern business. He has his flaws, obviously, but would we enjoy a podcast this long if all the characters remained two dimensional?

Anything to avoid Hamid's clearly impending vocal distress would be nice. Maybe we should petition the powers that be to give him a break so nobody bursts a vocal cord? (Bravo to holding the tension that long, it really is heartbreaking to hear his voice getting higher and know his blood pressure most be climbing too thanks to family.)

We should not mention these things. 😉
