OR: "Shades of Gilt"There is much wailing and gnashing of teeth in a very fraught and emotionally-charged episode of #RQGaming this week... even more so than usual, I mean As Hamid explains what has happened, ideologies of justice and family go head-to-head as LOLOMG's differences of opinion take a stand and we're all put through the wringer. There is some very powerful RP here as the party try to come to terms with conflicts of belief and deal with how they can proceed, with shades of the Zolf vs Bertie conflicts raising their heads... Plus the revelations and self-castigation of Howard Carter provide some lighter highlight to the woes going around, until a someone happens to realise that plot is afoot Now, the question is, just how do LOLOMG go about fixing the misunderstandings that have transpired?

Also, this one was excellent. I miss the alternative titles. This one also makes me think 50 Shades of Gilt, which doesn't work for the episode, but is sorta hilarious.

Well that was a hell of a thing, and a hell of a thing I definitely didn't see coming. I'm assuming at this point that the self-recrimination curse came from Barrett's people rather than the tomb itself, a nasty little failsafe to make sure there was a fall guy if things went south. And if I'm right, all I can say is "but we respect his craft." The question of the sandstorms still hangs in the air, but one crisis at a time (she said, laughing grimly at her own naivete even as she said it).
At the moment I have nothing to say about the emotional meat of this episode except 'oof.' That was also a hell of a thing, although perhaps a less shocking one.

Oh wow that was, wow. umm.
I loved Sasha just getting steadily drunker in a corner. poor woman, she thought she left barrett behind, but no.
the awkward silence after Azu says that no one is a criminal, I imagine everyone just turning to look at sasha

What I love about this podcast is how i can be rocking back and forth, almost in tears from laughing so hard, and then just so sad/horrified/upset in one episode, and its just seamless. This podcast is truly amazing

Enjoying the reactions here! As tabbyclaw said; 'oof!'. Very much the reaction I had recording this episode as well as relistening to it. Having some good chats on twitter about the ep as well, for those that follow me / the RQ account on there.

Oof indeed.
I'm glad that the bank robbery and curse shenanigans may have been not quite as they appeared, but I don't know if that really improves things. Grizzop threw quite a cat among the pigeons.
I really appreciate and admire how solid all the character work is in the group, especially for the characters who've been with us the longest and who have had the most stressful time recently. Hamid's wrong, but he's trying to protect his family. He's trying to prove himself to his dad, he's that particular type of romantic who respects a big sacrificial gesture - of course he's going to go along with this ridiculous scheme! Sasha's right, but she's lashing out in a particularly non-constructive way because she's scared and feels betrayed! She's in the worst possible frame of mind to actually talk to anyone!
Everyone's miserable, Alex is a monster, I love it.
ETA. Also I take back what I said a couple of weeks ago about having wanted a Howard Carter cameo in my game. You can keep him.

I did feel very sorry for Sasha when she thought that maybe Hamid had known about, and been working with Barrett this whole time. That girl deserves a break! Also, in her defence, at this point she is quite drunk, so can perhaps not be relied on to give the most constructive advice at this moment in time

Oh wow Im relistening to the episode after Kew gardens and Hamids views are made very plain. He takes the bribe to allow their reputation to continue, and wants to give them a chance to make up for accidentally killing people.
With the new insight from the most recent episodes this has taken a slightly more personal note
