OR: "A Cult of Personality"Well, well, well, things are not looking too rosy - Azu notwithstanding - for our heroes. As waves upon waves of determined blokes - of all stripes - beset their carriage, it seems beliefs are to be tested in the heat of battle, and the decision to cleave to them is not one taken lightly. I'm not going to say much more here - other than this could have just been a paragraph of the word "blokes" copy-pasted for lines Will Azu get swarmed? What of her companions? Can the Charge of the Pink Brigade reach her in time? So... roll on Episode 100 and a rousing cry "Come on the lads of LOLOMG!"

Listening with the seven year old: This week required Mommy to explain a number of terms that growing up in the states did not make sense to him. However, it has meant that I no longer here "DUDE!" shouted from the next room every time something does not go well in his game of Minecraft or Rocket League. I now hear "aww blokes!" and immediate giggling because he thinks it is hilarious. Double amusement because that character from happy days... there is a social services coordinator at my office with the same name. I'm now giggling every time I have to forward a call or walk past his door. The chances of me getting fired for constantly laughing to myself while at work increase exponentially with each episode... do you think the Magnus Institute is hiring for admin assistants or underpaid humanities teachers?
Theory: We are already aware that Wilde is a high level illusionist. My suspicion that this is a combination of the team having triggered a curse and/or Wilde being the man in the mask that they need to fear is growing. I'm highly worried that these are civillians either with their image altered by the curse or that they are under a similar effect thanks to how much we know mind control is a magical (and non-magical if we believe Mr Ceiling saying he cannot do magic) effect in this world. I do just hope that we get to see Oscar Wilde as evil because it will make my theory that this is punishment for the nut-punch so much better.

This theory is very elaborate and sounds somehow really cool. I would not have thought of something like this. I just have to say, I really loved this episode. I laughed nearly the whole episode while listening to it, because of all the lads und blokes jokes. It was a really good start to my day. I really hope, that "the pink wave" comes to the rescue o time. Especially seeing Azu go down after she fought so valiantly is nearly heartbreaking.

Come, now. Are you really implying that Wilde would commit such an awful offense against the officers of the Apophis Office?

Maybe it was his plan all along? And his whole life is just a charade and he played the long game.

He was offended by the offer of the officer of Apophis, and became the overlord of the overtly evil oval.

I'm going to add this to the list of diction and speech therapy language practice for my oldest. It will make him laugh, but hopefully help him with the longer vowel sounds he still has trouble using.

Maybe it was his plan all along? And his whole life is just a charade and he played the long game. "Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth." - Oscar Wilde I have actual mild paranoia and trust issues in general but you need to keep in mind it isn't just paranoia when they really are out to get you. Also my husband finds writing plot of our D&D/Pathfinder games so much more challenging because I was addicted to Sherlock Holmes mysteries as a child (the books are still some of my favorites) and learned to question and suspect everyone thanks to some real life things. It means I excel at puzzles, but I also should likely start my own chapter of the tinfoil hat brigade. Seriously though, I picture Wilde as a Bond villain and it makes my theory worth while.

Even I struggle saying that and normaly I am quite good with tongue-twisters and things like that.

Practicing language helps make it better. It starts out hard, but so did forming words like "ball" "dog" and "hot". He likes to read to our puppy to practice his speech because she doesn't judge, and I think adding in nerdy phrases helps him enjoy the practice rather than feel like work.

I'm still playing catch up, but Ben dropping "My milkshake brings all the blokes to the yard" is killing me softly (with laughter.) Also I spit-laughed coffee all over my dashboard because of this episode, so I'll be sending Rusty Quill a cleaning bill.
(Who am I kidding, I'll probably never clean it.)

I really want the "lads and blokes" song as an audio file. Anyone have a time code?
