Or: "What dreams may come"We're back! Although probably not with quite what you were expecting following the S4 teaser/trailer The Archivist is still laid up but at least he can receive visitors. And, boy, what a visitor - we finally get to meet they mysterious Dreamer, "Antonio Blake" or rather Oliver Banks - a figure many have wanted to know more about since his appearance back in MAG011 "Dreamer" . And I don't think he disappoints - as we finally discover how he straddles the boundaries of life and death, a veritable doctor of liminality. I have to admit, the denouement of his statement made my jaw drop - I had not expected that conclusion, and especially not delivered in such a throwaway way. And then there's Georgie's reaction to him. And the choice that was made. Whilst I say let's see what dreams may come. Perhaps, more accurately, we should see what comes of dreams?

WOooOOoh, damn! Awesome opening of the new season, I'm super hyped for more! Not that I wasn't anyway. Occasionally listened to a few certain well-known other horror podcasts during the wait and, man oh man, it made the waiting even worse. We definitely get well spoiled by Jonny's great writing. TMA is definitely still one of the best series out there! ♥ The teaser was so very sad and aawwww at the same time. But as much as I love Martin, I would've terribly missed our drama-queen Archivist! XD Can't wait to hear how the powers manifest in a real Archivist. Gertrude was ruthless and knowledgeable about the powers and their servants, but it's rather clear she never took the mantle completely like John did now. I also thought it would turn out differently. My idea was that the coma/nightmares would transform him further, like a rest in a cocoon, and that he would resent Beholding for the torturous way it changed him. But that he made the choice to change is much more interesting! And we discussed way back about it, I personally like him turning into a full monster. When the recording started fizzing in his vicinity, like it does with Lucas, I was so excited! Poor Martin, though. Crushing on monsters is probably even worse than before. Especially if said new monster could now see his feelings clearly. *gulp* Better buy the extra big packs of calming tea now. *pet-pet* Excellent story of the Dreamer and wonderful delivery by the VA, as always! And it's always great to have Georgie there!

Loved hearing from the Dreamer again but sad to find out he sacrificed himself and a bunch of other people to the End. I thought he was one of the good ones after he warned Gertrude, but the longer this show progresses, the less concrete 'good' becomes. Can't wait to hear how the powers manifest in a real Archivist. Gertrude was ruthless and knowledgeable about the powers and their servants, but it's rather clear she never took the mantle completely like John did now. Gertrude is such a cool character. Definitely ruthless, but I respect her more knowing she went up against all those powers without giving herself over completely to one of them. Unlike Jon, I guess. Wonder if his personality will be noticeably different after he wakes up? Will George eventually call him evil too? While I'm very happy to hear more from her, hopefully Georgie stays out of harm's way. Someone's got to make it through this series alive with their humanity (mostly) intact.
I'm so worried about Martin and whatever he agreed to do! His goodbye to Jon sounded so final.
Welcome back, Magnus Archives! Just one episode in and I'm already incredibly anxious for everyone.

Definitely, She's amazing! Especially if you look back at what Jon thought and said about her at the beginning. I guess along the line she won't have much choice other to call him evil, seeing how he decided to be an Avatar for the Eye. Then again, Beholding still is one of the less awful ones. And being nosy was already a main character trait of his, so who knows? Can't wait to see how he's like now! Interestingly, if she stays alive and well (which I hope too) would mean the person who lost all her emotions and had to relearn acting human is the one with an intact humanity... Oh, the irony. Yeah. But I think the goodbye was his last time trying to see Jon getting better instead of agreeing to anything awful. After months of no good news, he probably had to move on eventually and this was the moment. Although, since he already did a lot of the Archivists jobs while Jon was away, and most likely had to do these even more now, he might be in line for the position. Honestly, I think with Lukas in charge they might want Elias back after all by now. XD
