Hey folks, What I have to say here will probably not come as much of a surprise. But as of 31st March 2019, we will officially be retiring these forums. It is not without a heavy heart that we take this decision, but traffic here has been sparse over the last year or so, and with fewer visits by the crew, maintaining this outlet has become more difficult to manage in the increasing company workload. We won't be deleting things here, but they will effectively be mothballed. We have had some good times and good conversation here, and that should not lapse - most of the conversation about all of shows is already taking place in other venues, namely reddit and Discord, where myself and other members of the crew more frequently interact with folks, and there is a huge number of other fans to chat with and share your day with, in a broader Rusty Quill community. Head over to r/TheMagnusArchives or r/RustyQuill (for RQGaming & Stellar Firma), where you can find episode and theory threads. Or join us on the official Discord server for everything from fanworks to poring over spoilers or just getting a virtual *HUG* from your fellow fans. We hope to see you there! It's almost time. On Friday 15th February at 4pm GMT, we will be launching a brand-new podcast on the Rusty Quill network! Come join us for Stellar Firma - a sci-fi semi-improvised comedy podcast about the works of Stellar Firma Ltd, planet builders to the galaxy's elite, and, in particular, one Trexel Geistman (Tim Meredith), a man of mercurial talents, and his hapless clone assistant David 7 (Ben Meredith). Check out the trailer here! TRAILERWe hope you can join us for this brand new offering, channeling a ludicrous homage to Douglas Adams, and help us make this another great success!

OR: "Learning to Deal"
A moment's respite, it seems, as all parties work out what to do with the information at hand, as Sasha and Einstein bond over the merits of less formal educational structures. In Rome, the group find themselves at the mercy of an exposed night and things unseen in light AND space, as the rules for donning armour and dealing with invisible adversaries come very much to the fore. And back in Damascus, Grizzop finds new friends also investigating the strangeness of the diverted river, getting to share his experience.
A little bit of quiet, then... well, up until Sasha almost gets taken out on a near-literal cliffhanger...

OR: "Vast distances"This was brutal in more ways than one. Two familiar faces reappear this week, and both look to put a lot of distance between themselves and their erstwhile companions. I'm guessing that given their fear of heights, the statement-giver didn't really "enjoy sky blue" after their encounter with the mysterious Simon Fairchild, though we caught a glimpse of some strange monster too - another creature of The Vast? Or just something that dwells in the spaces, waiting to capitalise? I don't think Julian or his mother will be travelling in any more cable cars to find out. And then there's Martin. Too busy now to spend time with John, it seems. Too busy on work for Peter (and good catch to those of you who spotted the change in Martin's attitude to using his name ), it seems. You can just hear the yawn of the chasm opening...

OR: "Any Teleport in a Storm"
Right... Has everyone picked up the pieces of their broken hearts after that one then?
Honestly, I laughed, I cried, I was aghast - this ep was a true rollercoaster of emotions - sterling performances from everyone here. Einstein is an amazing NPC and his life hangs in the balance. The incinerated wasteland of (possibly?) Rome is going to take its toll - but just how hard is this arc going to hit their hearts as well as their heads? Alex is ramping up the physical and emotional stress, LOLOMG are under tension, and they're all dealing with it in different ways. Can they pull through the conflict to save their loved ones? Can they keep a cool head when all about them is roaring? And what of those they left behind...
Emotions will flow.

No clips of it from an official standpoint, I'm afraid, but feel free to clip it yourself for use in your games

OR: "Words from a poisoned loom"
Unlike Rumpelstiltskin, it's not gold that the Web is spinning, but fated outcomes. Possibly. Though who can say what the spiders truly want? A cautionary tale of venturing too far and too deep into the strands of the World Wide Web, of asking too much and saying too much. Because words travel, can be spun into silken stories, enticing and alluring.
We meet the spider folk once again, and poor Gregory seems unable to do anything much about the poor situations he finds himself in. And what of this mysterious client he meets in Guildford, not too far from the University of Surrey, with a head scar and spindly arms? Who is pulling the strings here?
And then we get Melanie's reaction to John being back... Or is it the Archivist and not John who has come back? How we tell? There is anger and the desire to hurt, to bleed... so many have been lost and nothing is being done, it would appear. And just what is Martin doing for Big Boss Lukas that is keeping him so busy?
So many threads to keep track of...

OR: "Missing Persons"Well now... someone's not very happy are they? Someone is turning up the pressure on LOLOMG, as we move from a treasure hunt to the action movie portion of proceedings. A veritable fantasy Taken, starring Liam Neeson as Hamid. The collateral damage has already started. A medusa assassin fails to deal with them as yet another major antagonist falls to the luck of LOLOMG. (RIP Squizard.) But Alex has more tricks up his sleeve. After all, if you can't hurt them directly, then friends and family will do just as well. Is there any wonder why many PCs are lone wolf orphans Some nice work as Einstein returns, albeit bearing bad news - and doubly bad as it looks like all roads lead to Rome... I guess we get ready for Hamid Smash!

OR: "More things in heaven and earth"
We stand on the cusp of things, the liminality of knowledge as John awakes from his coma. As he feeds, devouring knowledge, we have to wonder what has changed, if anything. As Basira asks - "What are you?" Is this season where we're going to find out? Do we really want to find out? Things are moving in mysterious ways and the team is not whole. 6 months is a long time to be gone and everyone is on edge. And we get the first meeting between Georgie and Basira - though we have to ponder why Georgie couldn't get hold of Melanie...
And what of these philopsophical zombies made real? Servants of The End? The Stranger? The Web? How many hollow ones abound and who do you trust when your own empathy level is complicated thing?
But, at least, the Archivist has awoken.
That's a good thing, right?

OR: "Adventures in Automation"
As Alex continues to show off his ingenuity when it comes to fiendish trap design - darn those university courses! - our bold adventurers appear to have made it through to the true heart of the operation and discover exactly why the theft of a river would be necessary. All those beautiful simulacrums, all that expensive adamantine ore, all that delicate machinery... and four intrepid mercenaries, bound by (mis)adventure and duty. Azu smash, indeed But is the place as unguarded as they think? Are the entry traps alone sufficient to deter would-be infiltrators? (Er... no?) Do the perpetrators have another defence up their sleeves? (Well... yes, of course). Can LOLOMG get the better of this mysterious archer or have they engineered their own downfall? Stay tuned...
