I'm very excited by this - I bought the Spire book ages ago and I always find it easier to put systems into practice after listening to others play them. Great to get an idea for how a one-shot/short campaign could be run.

I'm pretty sure we've seen them and I saved them. I will check my computer on Monday!

I don't get why everyone is so down on Alex for clearly taking the time to throw allow of us AND Brutor a bone... I live in fear of more terrible things happening to Sasha!

Damn I was worried for a moment there, Alex, you monster. I hope Brutor lives up to the family name better than his predecessor.

Is someone good at Discord able to help please? I have linked my Patreon account but I can't see the #earlyaccess channel. Do I need to do something else as well?

Did this episode end with a good thing happening? People said nice things, and then agreed it was reasonable that they should get what they want? Has Alex gone soft?
Really enjoyed this one. It was great to hear Hamid's backstory finally come out.

If I want to use Discord, do I need to do anything before Sunday? Install an app, I guess? Register an account?

Affluenza is definitely the word, Akelis. Hamid's obviously not a bad dude. But he's grown up inured to the kind of consequence some of the other characters have had to learn early and brutal lessons about. It colours these kind of conflicts beautifully.
That's a really good point about Grizzop and his approach to evil. He's being too dogmatic to be helpful at the moment. Azu's only known the group five minutes, so it's only natural for her to go along with the most familiar perspective - the other Paladin. And, to be fair, all she knows about Hamid at this point is that his family are apparently really good at covering up inconvenient murders.
I do think it's unfair on Sasha to expect her to react well to this. We know that her approach to criminal justice is... flexible, but she has excellent reasons for reacting so strongly to the idea of a group choosing someone expendable to take the fall for a criminal action. It's been barely any time since her own bereavement, and then finding out that she's dying - or worse!
Please do not ask me to guess how many hours a day I spend thinking about this podcast.

I think we also have an interesting problem here in that the world economy has been massively destabilised thanks to switching off Mr Ceiling, and I can't see that having confidence in one of its largest financial institutions be degraded further by the boss going down for murder would be overly helpful!

Oof indeed.
I'm glad that the bank robbery and curse shenanigans may have been not quite as they appeared, but I don't know if that really improves things. Grizzop threw quite a cat among the pigeons.
I really appreciate and admire how solid all the character work is in the group, especially for the characters who've been with us the longest and who have had the most stressful time recently. Hamid's wrong, but he's trying to protect his family. He's trying to prove himself to his dad, he's that particular type of romantic who respects a big sacrificial gesture - of course he's going to go along with this ridiculous scheme! Sasha's right, but she's lashing out in a particularly non-constructive way because she's scared and feels betrayed! She's in the worst possible frame of mind to actually talk to anyone!
Everyone's miserable, Alex is a monster, I love it.
ETA. Also I take back what I said a couple of weeks ago about having wanted a Howard Carter cameo in my game. You can keep him.

from the contract insertion? cause mr ceiling didnt do anything else to bertie That's what I assumed. He gave Mr Ceiling free rein to fiddle about inside his brain. Hm... He obviously talked to Graham and Steve the paladins on his way to Mr Ceiling's lair. I wonder if he says anything that might help clarify the timeline. If he confirms they speak French it has to be Mr Ceiling.

I'm assuming that was another of Mr Ceiling's upgrades.

Dammit, we've been trying to get a cameo from Howard Carter in our Cthulhu game for ages and now it sounds like he's going to be busy.

Poor Sasha. This one broke my heart a little bit. She's done some incredibly heroic things, but she's done them on her own in the dark and I don't think she gives herself any credit for them. I don't want to hug her because I don't think either of us would appreciate that, but the thought is there.
I'm so intrigued to get a bit more info about what Barret's up to.

So a few of us have started listening from the beginning again fairly recently and thought it would be useful to have somewhere we could discuss old episodes with the benefit of new information.
Do assume spoilers for everything currently released, and read at your own peril if you're catching up!
Episode 11: The Rackets is one I would really love to discuss but I think I need to listen to it again. I do remember:
1) just how lucky LOLOMG were that Hamid put that ring on. Zolf was about to do it, Barrett made a point of telling him that this would mean he had to stay with the group and Hamid grabbed it before he could put it on.
2) Barrett's Dementor servant seems completely unlike anything else we've seen. I think there is far more to Barrett than we currently know!
