Well... that was unexpected. Not least from the strange twisting of the skies but I think we all can agree that we're on tenterhook as to what Martin has found.
Anyone care to speculate on 'that sound'? Or what Mr Sims might have had to say about the skydiving pair? And we add another strange company to our record books. Is the truth out there?

Ohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygod!
This was an okay episode until the end, I jumped out of my skin when it first happened.
Well, last we heard of Martin working was, I think, in the Bone Turner's Tale, where he did some research into Sebastian's death, probably at the hands of Jarrid (however you spell it). This could be related, maybe he found some messed up bones or something.
For some reason, I was reminded of the worm-lady in one of the earlier cases (the Sexual Encounters one), although him dumping a fist full of worms on the table seems unlikely to have caused that reaction in Sims.
I don't think it's related to any of the other overarching threads, doesn't feel like it anyway. Nothing to do with a book from the Leitner library (those implies multiple, so unless it's multiple books....) although it could be something related to one of the books from the library. Nothing to do with Jarid Keys, as he's totally dead, and we all know people stay dead in TMA. Maybe related to Beacon & Hope? Something they delivered? I'm not sure, although I've not ruled out them being related to Leitner in some way.
I'm not sure about the sky diving pair. I don't recall a Simon being mentioned before, but could be a pseudonym? EDIT: That's literally what Sims said, sorry I was too excited by MARTIN BEING BACK! I don't know which couple it could be, is the thing. If it is a couple at all. Jarid and Mary Key would be a hilarious return, reincarnated into age-swapped bodies. Doubt that somehow...
I'm glad he's not dead, but I wonder if we'll have a live ongoing investigation from the eyes of Sims & co for the next episode? I'm not sure, but I'm super excited!

OK, so this episode was the first to properly creep me out and prompt me to create an account for the forums to discuss! That last I remeber hearing about Martin is that he was out sick? Is this him returning while being possessed? I don't know what to think about that sound but it certainly seemed "slimey" to me!

Also I hope we are all voting daily at the podcast awards.com in order to keep the good ship Rusty Quill afloat! Every damn day! Welcome, steeleface! Yeah, he was "off sick" for a few episodes, last one that he was mentioned in, I think, was The Bone Turner's Tale, Ep 17. What did you think happened to him?

Thanks for the welcome! If he was investigating The Bone Turner's Tale, I can only imagine that he ran afoul of some awful Lovecraftian creature from Lightner's (sp?) library! Perhpas the slimey sound were his limbs lfip-floppin' around?

Alex likes it best when you grovel more. Basically just lie face first on the floor until you're dismissed and then reverse caterpillar out the door. Also HI DUDE!

I'm not sure that Martin had an encounter with the Bone Turner, although it's possible. I mean, he was only looking at police reports of Sebastian, not of Jarid (is that how you spell it?) so I don't think Jarid would have known about him snooping.
It may be more likely that it's something new that he's been involved in, probably.

I think it's Jarad but I'll look to confirm name spellings with Jonny.

His name is Gerard Keay - transcripts of the episodes should be available in the not-too-distant, but until then feel free to keep guessing at spellings!

Thanks Jonny! But Gerard Keay isn't the same as the Jarid in the Bone Turner? That could be too spoilery, so is the spelling isn't the same?
