What are platform are people gaming on?
What games are you playing?
How many 0 hour playtime games are in your shamefully large Steam library?
Lets talk video games.

I basically really wanted to talk about Factoria on Steam and see if anyone else was playing it? It sort of looks like a classic real time strategy game but is heavily focused on economy and resource gathering/manufacturing and very little combat. Clocked about 8 hours of it over the weekend and can't stop playing it.

I am all about single player games that I can get lost in. I'm all about Dark Souls (1&2)at the moment, although I'm moving back to Mass Effect to play that again arm complete the trilogy.
Big fan of Devil May Cry and Metal Gear Solid as well, and most of the Halo games. I'm a proud member of the console-peasant race!

Oh now this is my sisters world, I do love my video games, playing almost everything out there!
But my sister actually makes them, she's a Level Designer for TT Fusion (people who make the Lego games) she recently worked on and created a number of levels in the new Lego Star Wars Force Awakens game. yeah, I'm pretty jealous of her job.
Factorio is a brilliant game, I got it pre-steam in beta mode and sadly haven't played in since its gone on steam. absolutely love that game, the complex automated systems you could make was brilliant, well up until one of those weird mole/rhino things came and demolished everything. I loved the conveyor belts filled with copper and iron ore.
I've always been intimidated by Civilisation, I think its all the horror stories I hear about Gandi that stops me from trying it.
I just got all the Mass Effects also, but struggling to find time to immerse myself and possibly marathon through them at some point. My sister loves these games.
Haven't had much time for games recently, and not owning a next gen console means I'm probably going to fall behind on all new games being released.

I'm all about turn based gameplay. my favourite game series ever is Civilisation. Exactly this. I've logged hundreds of hours at Civ IV, because it's the only game I have. Well, except for an F1 "game" that is dead handy for completely zoning out and has absolutely no narrative elements included.

I've always been a fan of RPGs, building a character and leveling up, getting new and better gear. I'm mostly on an Xbox 360, after being out of the video game world for a while. I never really gamed seriously on PC and I'm a Mac user now with a tiny Steam library. But I've put significant hours in Skyrim, Red Dead Redemption, Batman Arkham series, Fallout and Far Cry. At the moment, I'm actually playing Baldur's Gate on my Mac! I suppose that's to quell the D&D lust that has been ignited within me.

Yeah, character building and levelling up always appealed to me too. Loved the whole Elder Scrolls series, and all the games on the Baldur's Gate engine. My favourite might have been Temple of Elemental Evil though- 3rd edition rules and turn based combat. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.......

Anyone play many split screen console games as a kid or does asking such a question prove I'm getting older...?

I played a lot of MarioKart. Best racing game ever. I played most of the different versions, but I got ridiculously good at the Gamecube version (aka the best one). It may be the only computer game I have ever been good at.

Mario kart 64 and goldeneye are the 2 that always jump to my mind, followed by timesplitters 2 and maybe lylat wars (starfox 64) Basically repurchased all the ones I can to play on the Wii u( pretty sure I could still play GameCube games if I could be bothered to plug the Wii in).
Does anyone bother with emulators? My brother was obsessed but part of the experience for me was it being on a TV with a controller.

I love video games, but I don't play them very often because I never had the money for consoles and games (although now I have a job that will hopefully change). Also, my parents never thought I would like them as a kid because they thought that they were only 'for boys.'
I od however watch a lot of let's plays on YouTube and that is where I predominantly get my gaming fix along with listening to soundtracks from games. I've played Minecraft for quite a few years though and used to play some of the Mario games although I suck at them. I'm also about halfway through Portal at the moment but play got put on hold for a few months. I got Skyrim for Christmas last year, but I've yet to actually play it becasue of timing.
Anyone here played Neverwinter? (the WotC online thing) That's pretty fun, but my laptop deleted my data, so I've only just started again with that.

PORTAL! Yes!! One of the greatest games of all time. Though I think I enjoyed portal 2 even more.
I don't really play any online games (only mtgo, cos of my mtg addiction), I just find most strangers a bit horrible. I much prefer to play single player stuff by myself - and I'm sad that so few good RPGs get made aimed at single players these days.

Portal is honestly one of the greatest games, ever. It's story is slowly revealed to the player through environmental clues and dialogue, the gameplay is unique and really fun and GLADoS quickly becomes a classic villain. My only problem is that it is so short. Portal 2 is even better and expands on everything even more and introduces the hilarious CEO of Aperture Science. Plus, MUSICAL CREDITS!
