Hi Payne, *joins in Oneiros hug* I'm really sorry to hear that you're suffering so much at the moment, that's really sad, especially from what I've seen on the forum from you is so bright and witty, I've some generalised anxiety problems and occasional panic attacks, (but fortunately for me nothing that's meant I've been taken to the hospital.) I've been working with a NPL therapist (hypnotherapy) and although it's a little hippy dippy, some of the tools have been incredibly helpful to me and I've been able to stop myself having a panic attack a few times now. There's a nice bit of meditation where you allow your brain to Zone out for a couple of minutes at a time... It's helped me at work especially. Don't be embarrassed or ashamed, it might be coming from your body working its way through something and processing it? It's a shame that there's still an attitude that people can just 'pull it together.' I'm glad you reached out, I'm going to bring some baked goods to this corner, possibly with a magic blanket and more company for listening. Definitely a safe space here xx

One of the issues I've been dealing with is work generally. I'm not entirely sure the current atmosphere there isn't a cause of my current symptoms.
So despite it causing a spike in anxiety, I was rather happy to get a phone call inviting me to an interview tomorrow morning for a job I'll have a total lock on if the money is right. For a company that has locations nationwide, so there is a possibility for relocation if I decide I need to move back to Scotland at some point.
I think that the meeting yesterday is grounds enough to justify moving on to myself, despite my virtual Stockholm Syndrome levels of loyalty.

Basically I can't add anything other than what others have.
Safe space.
Good luck.
A round of fictional ale on the house.

I think my interview went well. Should find out in a couple of weeks!
Thanks everyone. I know this isn't really the place for this kind of thing, but it IS genuine chatter at least!

fingers crossed on the new job becoming a thing. Mental health issues can be a pain in the arse to deal with if those surrounding you don't understand or take the time to try and understand. My family has a history of depression and my sister has a tendency towards claustrophobic panic attacks so we're lucky to have the support we've got. But going it alone can't be easy.
Any ways, good luck!

Haven't really been able to speak a lot recently on this due to not really having any knowledge on mental health issues, but good luck Doktor Payne on everything that occurs in your future. Also who put a portal in the bar, I can't serve extra people from the intrigue lounge as well! By the way I think we should write up character sheets for us in this world (even though we will only be here) and also be able to Role-Play the characters but I don't know if this would be popular(?) If it is I think we should use the pathfinder rule set (as it is the one used by Rusty Quill for the moment) also being the one used in the world.

I played around with the pathfinder character making rules the other week just for the hell of it. Killed a bit of time, although I'm sure I got the maths wrong XD

If it is I think we should use the pathfinder rule set (as it is the one used by Rusty Quill for the moment) also being the one used in the world. I might do one for me, based on me as closely as possible (so a little bending of the rules to fit me into a character). Possibly at the level we've reached in forum ranking? So I think that's me at level three... I've been dragooned into attending a geek quiz at the board games cafe round the corner but I'll draw one up later and see how I get on.

I genuinely have no idea how I would fit into this world. A wizened, crotchety old bard who just compulsively casts ghost-sounds?

Also it is your world, so you can be whoever you want to be (as long as it somewhat conforms to rules set in the universe)

(I used the 4d6 system for this. I did reroll one of the rolls when it came up all 1's)

So I have written a dwarven barbarian named Rodgar Jones, he's 4'2'', aged 54 years, has a military type cropped haircut (blonde) and a blonde shovel beard with dwarven style braids down it, he also has piercing blue eyes that contain a large amount of rage.
STR 15 DEX 13 CON 15 INT 11 WIS 14 CHA 10 (I used the same system that RQ used to make their characters so point buy w/ 25 points) HP = 24 AC = 15 (touch=11 and flat-footed = 15) Speed = 30
Feats (including traits, class abilities, etc) Fast movement Uncanny dodge Rage (currently 9 rounds, will update when levelled) Rage power= guarded life (will update with more when levelled) Raging vitality Axe to grind Hard to kill
Skills have put in ranks (bonuses in brackets may have gotten wrong) Craft (alcohols?) 1 (+1) Diplomacy 2 (+6) Intimidate 2 (+6) Perception 1 (+3) Profession (barman) 2 (+2) Sense motive 2 (+6)
Carries a dwarven war axe, armoured coat, and a slightly more simplified soldiers outfit (no cloak, simply trousers, shirt and the belt) Had some money to spare (rolled particularly well) but I will say that it has gone into brewing supplies and general improvements of the yeti's claw itself
May have forgotten this, he speaks English, Spanish, Welsh and dwarven (if there is one), his English also has a thick welsh accent.

OK gonna have to bear with me on this...
I have Cair McCochlain, who is a level 1 Elven rogue. He was meant to be a cleric of Athena, but on the trip to his initiation his party was attacked by bandits who kept him alive because they thought they might get a ransom. But he was only going because he was a son the family had little other use for so basically he had to work his charisma skill for everything he could in order to stay alive.
He's 6' tall, but only 115lbs because elves are skinny beggars at the best of times and he's a rogue so while he doesn't weigh much what he does weight is mostly muscle. He's 123 years old, has short strawberry blonde hair and heterochromia - his left eye is acorn brown, whilst his right eye is emerald green. He's wearing leather studded armour
STR 11 DEX 15 (+2) CON 13 (-2) INT 14 (+2) WIS 11 CHA 13 (based on 3d6, bonuses shown in brackets)
HP: 6 (takes a -2 hit from con I think? it was an 8) AC: 14 [15-1 from armour] (don't know about flat footed or touch? help?) A/SB: +3 Speed = 30; Initiative = +2 Fort: -2; Reflex: +4; Will: 0 Attack bonus: 0
Feats (traits/class abilities) Low light vision Immune to sleep +2 save v enchantment +2 to spell craft +2 to perception Weapon familiarity: longbow, longsword, rapier, short bow Weapon proficiency: simple weapons, hand crossbow, rapier, sap, short bow, short sword Sneak attack Trap finding Two-handed fighting
skills: Acrobatics 1 (+3) Climb 1 (+3) Knowledge (local) 1 (+3) Knowledge (nature) 1 Knowledge (religion) 1 Perception 2 (+5) Stealth 2 (+3) Language (Draconic) 1
Speaks Common/English and Elven, of course, and having rolled somewhat decently for gold he's carrying the following: 5 daggers, 1 longsword, backpack, Flint and steel, 10 foot pole, 50ft hemp rope and Thieves tools. He also has 15GP, 9 silver and 5 copper in various locations because this is a bar and he is not a complete mug.
*takes a deep breath and plonks down in a chair*

Oh the glory and the sadness of it. I finally finished my first box of GW miniatures in almost two decades, the Tyranids swarm box is all assembled and painted now (I did the Carnifex last).
Yay! I painted all of my 'Nids! Which means now I don't have any more to paint...
