As soon as I recognized Breekon and Hope the second time, I got an awesome feeling similar to learning about "Wolfram & Hart" in the Buffyverse. It tickles me to think of legitimate corporations needing to deal with the supernatural, spinning off all kinds of fun imaginings like someone rolling their eyes at a mountain of paperwork over a demon's conjuring or balancing a ledger to keep on top of a werewolf's food.

I'd have to say the Keays, Michael and the Lucas family. I'm sure they've a part to play, despite Elias's feelings on the matter.

I'm all about the Leitner thread. Jonny, you've said you have an endgame for the story threads more or less, or at least how they connect. That's good of course, but the scary part is that makes me wonder if you know how TMA itself will end. Without spoiling too much, is there a scenario in which, if TMA continues to grow in popularity and fan support, the threads could be further expanded or new ones created? Or do you actually have a planned finite conclusion to TMA?

I'm going to go into this in more detail in the post season Q&A, but I will say The Magnus Archives has, and has always had, a definite ending planned. It's a long way off, but it is finite series that will have a proper (hopefully) satisfying conclusion.

Jonny: *takes a deep breath* "Well, we started by taking inspiration from Babylon 5 and how well that ended, particularly with the great integration of its fifth season and Crusade..."

Seriously, I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO PROCESS THESE EMOTIONS. REEEEEEEEEEE I think it's worth emphasising this point more strongly; Is it weird that I'm sort of glad it has an end planned? I'm a bit jaded by podcasts or other media that never finish off story arcs and just continue for the sake of continuing. I trust TMA's pacing enough that this won't won't be the case. Glad it's a long way off though.

I believe we already know how long, but I don't know if that's supposed to be public information. I think Jonny may talk about it during the end of season 1 Q&A episode.

It's not any sort of secret - I was going to discuss it in the Q&A, and I still will, but that's a month or so away, and there's no actual reason not to cover it now: As it stands, there are planned to be four or five seasons of The Magnus Archives, each with 40 episodes. If there are only four seasons, there will likely be some extra-long special episodes ending it. The question currently being discussed by Alex and myself is whether the final stories can support an entire season, and we haven't come down one side or the other yet - we both want a very strong ending rather than stretching it out just for the sake of extra content, but it may well be we can have both. Either way, Magnus should be going for at least another three years or so.

You're lucky that no one at Rusty Quill has a life outside of work.
