"Jonah" is definitely a male (unless equal marriage was legalised in Victorian England). Aargh, to my ears it sounded feminine, and the way her correspondence spoke to her gave me the impression our founder was female 😅 See MAG23, there might be a more definite answer in there

The wiki would be a horrible mess of spelling and grammar mistakes without you, Oneiros. Thanks! Hey now, I like to think I keep my little fenced-off area well tended Haha! Yeah, I meant the mess of the wiki that I've contributed to

I'm still convinced that our founder is Joana as Albrecht Von Closen and Sampson Kempthorne address her in a way that I consider men in the early 19th century century would address a woman. This is admittedly circumstantial at best

Just to clarify - it's Jonah Magnus, rather than Joanna, and he was male. Apologies if the pronunciation was a bit unclear.

Speaking of, I wonder if there's any Smirke buildings near Old Fishmarket Close? I don't know if there's a Smirke building, but I think there may be an angler fish bumming smokes down there...

On an unrelated note to my mad theories, Mr Kempthorne mentions that when he was visited by the being that may or may not be 'The Guvnor' the dimensions of the room pressed into him yet didn't change. This could be related to Jonathan's experience exploring the tunnels of Millbank in MAG41. Perhaps this Guvnor is now present there and is linked to the voice Jonathan heard.
