One thing about RQG that I am really impressed by is how well things stay on track when the party is split. There are few off-topic tangents and very little disruptive interjection by people who are not in the active scene. How much of that is editing?
My biggest issue with the campaign I'm playing in right now is that there's a lot of party splitting that's done poorly. Cuts between scenes feel too infrequent, so inactive players get bored/antsy. Players tend to interrupt scenes they are not in, and want the GM to resolve things that are not part of the active scene while he is trying to run the active scene.
What can I as a player do to make this better? Or do is RQG not as tight as it appears to be in the edited version that gets released?

Honestly we actually don’t tend to have issues when we split the party, even without editing. But remember that in RQG we are playing for an audience so everyone is a bit more disciplined which makes it easier to GM.
As a player, i’d say don’t try to steal focus. If my character isn’t there I try to make a point of being quieter.
As a GM, the key is to switch focus as frequently as possible between the split members so no one gets bored. Also, if it’s possible, I try to mirror events across the split. I.e. make events happening to both sides of the split relevant to everyone.
Also during a split party I rely a LOT more on GM edits. Eg. Saying “cut to” or “skip to” etc. Rather than following each split in detail I sort of skim across and give highlights until the party rejoins.

IMO, we as players are very aware of it, so we do try to help - but Alex managing it with cuts is the biggest reason it works well by far. I think we do go off topic slightly more than you hear - those are the bits that tend to get cut, but not too much I hope.

Thank you for the advice! The frequent cuts make sense as the best to keep players engaged when their characters aren't present.
