So a few of us have started listening from the beginning again fairly recently and thought it would be useful to have somewhere we could discuss old episodes with the benefit of new information.
Do assume spoilers for everything currently released, and read at your own peril if you're catching up!
Episode 11: The Rackets is one I would really love to discuss but I think I need to listen to it again. I do remember:
1) just how lucky LOLOMG were that Hamid put that ring on. Zolf was about to do it, Barrett made a point of telling him that this would mean he had to stay with the group and Hamid grabbed it before he could put it on.
2) Barrett's Dementor servant seems completely unlike anything else we've seen. I think there is far more to Barrett than we currently know!

First of all: Thank you for opening the thread! I really appriciate it.
About the Dementor-thing at Barrett's I would really like to know more. I have absolutly forgotten about, until I relistened to it.
Barrett seems to be an interesting character and Sascha has clearly not told very much about him.

Well, this seemed like a perfect spot for me to drop into the forums! I'm currently doing a sporadic re-listen as I introduce a friend to the series for the first time. (We're going through this, TMA, and the first campaign of Critical Role, all at the same time. Our evenings are pretty much booked until the end of time.) It's amazing how much time I've spent in just the first ten episodes going "Oh, right, that was a thing, wasn't it?" I swear I'd forgotten half the central plot of the whole podcast, and I'm looking forward to gradually piecing it together again (and seeing just how much the players missed in the recap episode!). It's so much fun to see how wildly far we've come from those early days. Sasha has a single-digit number of daggers! Zolf hasn't even tried to drown anyone so far! Nobody knows just how awful Bertie is yet! There are moments when Hamid isn't in microphone-damaging distress! Ah, simpler times.
Most unexpected "Oof, that's heavier in hindsight" moment so far: Bryn's little mutter that when he's a dragon he's coming back to burn Other London to the ground. Not such amusing hyperbole from the other side of Eiffel's Folly...

Not such amusing hyperbole from the other side of Eiffel's Folly... When I relistend to that my first thought was: Hmm like Eiffel's folly. And in hindsight it is definitly heavier then. They all seem much more innocent in the prologue, especially Sasha.

What I realized while relistening to Episode 10 and 11: Hamid and Bertie got ko'd during the fight in Other London before they were brought to Barrett. But they all only remembered the scar-thing after Sasha got blown through a wall. So Hamid should have a scar from that encounter and Bertie should also have had one.
Also Hamid did not get a scar after he gets ko'd in Kew Gardens by the cold mould.
I think a scar from the cold mould would have been quite funny.
But I am not sure how the scar-thing works in Pathfinder, so don't know if they have just forgotten.
And I know it is not important, just realized it.

The scar thing is a house rule, I believe - something that Alex came up with. I don't know if it needs to be applied every time, I like it for dramatic moments, but sometimes it seems a bit excessive.

I had the impression a scar was acquired once an injury zaps a characters health-points to the point where you need to stabilize or emergency healing to not die.

I had the impression a scar was acquired once an injury zaps a characters health-points to the point where you need to stabilize or emergency healing to not die. That was also my asumption, hence my question. But I think that some drastic has to happen, e.g. a falling Bertie, being blown through a wall or a falling ceiling, is quite a good thing. Otherwise squishe characters like Hamid would be covered in scars by level 6 if the encounters go bad.

Weeell, squishy as he may be, Hamid hasn't been this low on health often.

True, but they were lucky, all things considered. :3 I like the scar-idea a lot. Makes characters being badly injured so much more real. Very different to games like Skyrim, where you see about 50 arrows sticking out of your character while running around and then nothing bad comes of it. XD

I never played Skyrim, so I cannot really say something about it 😉.
But Sasha looks pretty badass with all her scars now.

honestly hindsight is awful when relistening - like just listening to the metacasts and lydia is talking about wanting to have an undead character - looking back on it, its like, oh do you now?
and nothing is quite as painful as listening to Hamid be excited to see his sister - i just want to hug him, he didn't even get to see her!
