OR: "Happy families"
Well, they say it's good to talk... but I'm not sure that most families have conversations like these. Tempers are rising in the Archives and answers, on all fronts, are still thin on the ground. But at least they're talking, right? *looks hopeful* And then we have a tale of how one guy overcame his loneliness and found his "petit scarabée", along with the joys of raising a family together. One, very big, happy family... *shudder*
Plus we have the statement-giver getting somewhat antsy with Gertrude in Tolouse, accompanied, it seems, by one Gerard Keay, who appears to be more in league with the Archives than previously thought. What does this bode for future investigations? And how do you think workplace relations are faring, what with murderous Melanie and a muddled Martin, a heady mix of emotions if there ever was.
Welcome back to the Archives, Mr. Sims...

"The police seem really keen on not investigating crimes committed here." "That's actually fair." "Shut up!" That was a delight.
Never before has the mention of someone having dyed hair elicited such a strong 'oh damn!' reaction from me. This show is so good at speaking in little details and hints like that, while still explaining enough that you're not shut out of the story if you don't catch them right away. And then Jon's mix of resignation and distress at the realization that the statement was in French was another 'oh, things are just going to get worse from here, aren't they?' moment.
Jon and Martin had a conversation! Sort of! Keep doing that thing, you two. I will continue to sit here and fret and ship it like mad. I am so deeply worried about Martin, especially after that little "unless the world ends" crack. Stop tempting fate!
It's a bit of an amusing perspective shift, though. I spend all of RQG worrying about what Alex is going to do to everyone else's characters, and then I switch over to TMA and spend it worrying about what everyone else is going to do to Alex's character.

Is it bad that having caught up all of RQG, hearing Martin's semi-jovial discussion if "it's not the end of the world" made me laugh hard and in a slightly sinister manner?
