Since poor Azu has been suffering the wrath of her skewed dice... Alex is wrong, the dice CAN be evil. Here's something we try from time to time with my kids to see if our dice are weighted incorrectly. makezine.com/2015/06/16/check-balance-gaming-dice/

Yes, the dice^^ I know a lot of people who do the testing very differently I don't know if that's a p&p player-thing or just the weirdness of the people around me, but in every group I play in (and I have like...4 regular ones) I have at least one person who does some weird dice-ritual. My MG in one group does something he calls "dice casting", so he rolls ten dice repeatedly and throws the ones out for the session that rolled bad. A player from the other group does the opposite: she sorts out the ones that rolled good because "they have run out of luck". And when I forget my dice and I take some else's everyone is like "oh no, baaad luck!" It's gamer superstition!

There's probably something in looking at gamer superstitions, particularly amongst folk who have scientific/maths backgrounds and understand probability

There's probably something in looking at gamer superstitions, particularly amongst folk who have scientific/maths backgrounds and understand probability i understand probablity and statistics, and i understand dice cant be lucky, but tell that to the game where ive rolled consistently highly in attack rolls, with maybe 2 bad attack rolls over 6/7 fights and when one character consistently rolls badly on wisdom checks!

Dice may not be lucky, but they can be weighted poorly (as the test above points out) due to flaws in the construction at time of build.
