I'm a bit worried for Ed now! In the original mythology, Adonis was a lover of Aphrodite and was killed by either Artemis or Apollo for revenge, or by Ares because he was jealous that Aphrodite was spending her time with Adonis. (Useful life lesson- don't get involved with any god whose name begins with an A. Avoid Z as well.) Azu experiences a great wave of grief when trying to read Ed, and Aphrodite's grief over Adonis' death was commemorated in an annual festival. Is this foreshadowing from Alex, who is in effect the god of the game world and whose name also begins with an A.... oops. We respect his craft?
[Sidebar regarding the outtakes at the end- Artemis is the sister of Apollo. Although some versions of Aphrodite have Zeus as her father, making her their half-sister.]

Aphrodite was married to Hephaestus, the lord of the forge, in Greek and Roman mythology. This was key as he was sometimes called the "crippled smith" as the legend says his leg was twisted and mangled by his own forge and his face/skin burned by his work. Aphrodite was made to marry him by Hera to learn humility because she lacked (and kindness) it in spades. Her obsession with Adonis did end in his death, but I believe for different reasons of jealousy.
I'd still prefer "Adonis" to Narcissus any day... so go for it Ed.
