Brecon (spelling? Help me Jonny!) & Hope sounded promising the moment I heard it. For an innocuous enough pair of names, they sounded shady as anything.
The weirdest thing about the living alone in that building idea, is that Joshua was so disconnected from his surroundings that he was able to think that sounds were possibly coming from another flat. He made no indication at all that he lived there completely alone...
And remember kids, it's not just foolish student promises made whilst under the influence that can get you in trouble. No no no. You can find yourself living an illusory existence guarding an evil mystery box at any time!

Excellent episode, loved the fact that there was a suggestion of things to come, combined with the spookiness that was also in the 1st episode.
Also, foolish student promises that might involve pacts with otherworldly forces, is my middle name

It's spelled Breekon and Hope in the original statement. And you guys should probably just forget about them - they're probably entirely incidental and will never return. Probably. In fact, keeping track of any of these names, places or dates is just a waste of time. It's not like there's some elaborate meta-plot that's going to be gradually built up over the course of years*. They're just self-contained spooky stories - best not to overthink it.
*I lied, that's totally what it is

Just discovered that The Magnus Archives were up and binged on them on my way into work this morning.
They have both been very intense and atmospheric, but I don't think I have ever jumped at the mention of a scream, just before the coffin was removed. Profoundly creepy and tense, I can't wait to hear more!

This is one of my favourite episodes for the simple fact that the protagonist goes "do not open? Well, I've clearly seen enough horror movies to know how this ends." He does all the right things and yet the story still manages to be terrifying.

Just rewatched Cabin in the Woods with my girlfriend, neither of us enjoy horror usually (too many jump scares!) but we both love Whedon, so I bought it for cheap and she loved it.
I like to think that all horror films are set in the CitW world, or at least operate by the same rules.

I've never seen CitW and have surprisingly remained un-spoiled for it. I'm not big on jump scares at all - especially in podcasts, since ripping your earplugs out in sheer terror gets you some very odd looks.
