I was a bit surprised by my party's actions in this episode. Every other group I have ever GM'd for, would have definitely investigated the door of the tomb at least a little before just grabbing the hand and diving right in. I had each of the 12 scenarios planned, knowing I would only use three of them, which is perhaps a little over the top - even for me. But each one was relatively simple.
As you heard at the end of the episode, timings got away from me a bit, so this one runs straight into next week's episode, hopefully you've still enjoyed it. As always Alex has spun gold out of the rather poor hay I have provided him with. I loved the magical teleportation sound effect that was used in this episode, it made it so much more fun. The effect for the voice of Atlas was also lovely, I do tend to do a bit of voice acting for my NPC's but it's really interesting to hear that dialed up with effects.
So many jokes in this episode that I really loved too. Perhaps the best for me was James' "... Sir Bertrand thought to himself."

I like the less polished presentation of the sidequest, it's not a bad thing! For newer players I'd think It kind of feels like a glimpse into what happens to us when we play long enough.
There was a wonderful bit in the last episode (I listen to the previous weeks episode in the gap between getting home and the new one coming out) after Edward healed the leopard.
*Roll* It jumps into the trees *Roll* Successfully *Roll* You can't see it...
And by the party leaping straight into it, do you really just mean Alex? The other two would have taken a bit of time over it if they'd had a choice I feel...

It had to make the check to avoid attacks of opp, then to jump into the trees, then to hide. Perfectly logical I dunno about taking their time. Tjelvar would have, I'm sure, but Bertie seemed to feel that his destiny was at hand...

The main quest is very good for showing less experienced players how to go about getting their tabletop on and is very good for that, but now I can also play an episode or two to show them how it all comes together when you're confident with the rules and the roles. As for Bertie, I think he would have taken a bit more time over the classical nudes if he hadn't needed to chase after his companions... Please do forgive the mess I made of the quotes there. Difficult to do on a phone during a ciggie break

We actually discussed how to make a spin-off work with the examples of Frasier (good) and Joey (bad) in terms of using an established character. A topic that has always fascinated me. Edited your quoting, hope that's ok.

Oooh, that tickles! (thank you. It was annoying me even whilst I was working)
In terms of this spin off it's definitely more Frasier than Joey. Though I find myself hoping that Tjelvar spins off himself forming some kind of Rusty Quill fractal. I don't think anyone here has given Ben enough love for that character, who is flat out awesome.
