*looks at Ep 46 thread title and today's episode title* Well, that's not confusing in the slightest... I think it's safe to say this ep had it all - I laughed heartily out loud, was tearful, had several jaw drop and heart clenching moments. Applause for how much you packed into this episode! Although I do wonder if at this point everyone except Sasha should just keep schtum and proceed to the exit in an orderly fashion... Where to start unpicking it though? And I imagine there's a lot of fallout from what's going on here, not least of which - A MERITOCRAT IS DEAD?!? (Or is that just what Brutor wants you to think...) But don't worry, someone (or some*thing*) will fill that gap, right? So, thoughts folks? We have reunions, brains, scheming, pain, contracts, wistful memories, sea horses, mind alteration ethics, Nikola Tesla and much more in this heady mix.

Currently this is how I see the series ending based off todays episode: Berty has become the End boss. Merged with Mr Ceiling to become Mr Berty Ceiling. A Bionic "Happy" Brutor as his companion. The team ; Full magic Dragon Hammid, Essentially Batman Sasha and Zolf sat astride a Water Elemental in the shape of a Seahorse a brutal fight ensues. The team realise Brutor is the machines weakness and focus their attacks on him.
Sasha deals the final explosive blow on Brutor leading Mr Berty Cieling to Rage and almost fatally injure Sasha. At the last moment Brock's Brain overpowers Mr Berty Ceiling and we have a heart felt goodbye from Brock delivered from Berty's Mouth. Mr Berty Ceiling sends a message to all the newspapers detailing Berty's Gnome contract and he is magically banished to the Screaming pooh dimension for all eternity. Fade to Black.

Whoa...this episode...just...and that ending...whoa I can't but think the party is making everything worse by giving Mr. Ceiling "lots to think about" Mr Ceiling likes having lots to think about. More ideas makes Mr Ceiling more productive and more able to make people happy. More happiness is good.

I'm somewhat disturbed that I read Oneiros' part of the above post in Mr Ceiling's voice in my head. But yeah... That guy's not the least bit creepy, in the same way being stabbed with a needle isn't the least bit painful -_- Not sure this is gonna end well. But on the other hand, I foresee XP strewn battles in the next episode

So, here is something interesting. We learned this episode from Mr. Ceiling that a Meritocrat is dead, which is pretty earth shattering stuff. We also learned of it's name, Bolla Smok. From the the description of The World from the RQ website, we know the below:
"Bolla Smok, unknown, responsible for Magic, based in Prague with Dominion over Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Bolla Smok alone among the Meritocrats chooses not to reveal themself to humanity, using only trusted proxies to rule the people."So has Bolla Smok been DEAD THE WHOLE TIME? It's always worked in the shadows, using proxies to interact with society; has Mr. Ceiling taken over Bolla Smok? Has he killed him/her? Bolla Smok is also based in Prague, a future destination of our intrepid heroes and Brutor...but I'm sure none of this is relevant

*and breathe* apologies. I just really loved this one. And I really appreciated how awesome everyone was at making the decisions their character would make and with the role play part really shining through this week. Sasha Batmaning, Hamid not enjoying his food *weeps*, Zolf's decision to not take the legs... BRUTOR!!!! BUT BERTIE WHAT have you done!? (So much story potential!)
Ahhhh. Going to have to listen to it again today.
...did anyone else notice the footsteps in the background? There's some very subtle sound design, it's so good!
...I'll apologies for going full fangirl this week, it's just been the rusty-quilliest of episodes! Mr Ceiling is a brilliant NPC. Terrifying. But brilliant.
Thank you for answering the question of what happened to the tentacle monster
