Sorry for posting again but I completely forgot... THE CREEPY THING COMING OUT OF THE VASE! was that a creature that has a horrible case of Kleptomania, or was it a dead body? Given that he also vanished, it could well have been the husband. I doubt anyone disappearing into a cursed vase would reappear in particularly good shape. Since Andre (sensibly) ran after the fingertips appeared, he wouldn't have recognized him if it had been David... assuming he was still recognizable. It could, of course, have been the thing responsible for the disappearances, in which case it may have been coming to collect him as well? I can't shake the feeling there's a connection in this episode we haven't seen yet, though. I hadn't made the connection between David being the thing in the vase - I thought it was one of those MA creatures whose sole aim -seemingly- is to mess up whichever poor person's life it suddenly appeared into. (I read the phrase "motiveless malignancy" in a book on horror, which is a great phrase and one that I can't cite, since I have forgotten the book's title.) That's a horrible thought; either it's his husband or some thing trying to get him. Given the ending, i wonder what the next statement will be -especially as its the penultimate one- perhaps Martin or Tim giving a statement about how the MA got overrun with worms...I feel like Elias has had a rather cavalier attitude to the security* aspects of running the institute, if worms are still getting in. You'd think dealing with the paranormal for however many years would make you a bit more paranoid about such things, especially if something mysterious happened to the last archivist which he clearly knows more about then he's seen fit to share with Jonathan. I always like it when apparently tangential characters reappear - nice to see Salesa in action. Makes one wonder what exactly he was doing with Paul Noriega. *I almost typed "Health and Safety" here and I got the image of some well meaning person plastering "lift with your knees" signs everywhere and harassing Martin to fill out an incident report form.

I'm wondering if each of the fractals has a different effect and how many others are out there.. Do they work in conjunction with each other... like if you put the vase on the table... i was delighted to find an MA podcast this morning and even happier with the content... but that ending.... gah!!

I was going to listen, but I've been off sick this week and I don't think listening to this episode at 1:30am is going to do my health any good... I'm so nervous/excited...

Combining dangerous artifacts seems a bit more like an SCP Foundation trick than a Magnus Institute thing - our MA friends seem a bit more genre savvy than that. Hopefully.

Wiki updated: the-magnus-archives.wikia.com/wiki/MAG_38:_Lost_and_FoundCan someone tell me how to spell the time period that the vase comes from? I literally have no idea and spelt it vaguely phonetically. There was a small thing, that his shoes were replaced with a bag of shirts he thought he'd thrown out. Maybe it's time swapping items?

I'm wondering if the creature in the vase is Jonny's version of the archetypal Chinese "Hungry Ghost"? Such spirits either arise from being a bit of a git (technical term, you know) in life before popping their clogs, or by being insufficiently venerated in death. Chinese ghosts require sustenance, usually through offerings, but if the offerings stop (because the family dies off or no longer venerate their ancestors) they either go self-employed or fade away. One type of hungry ghost is "the ghost of losses", that lives off lost objects in the human world. Hungry ghosts, by the way, are more physical than Western ghosts. Sound familiar...?

Yeah, I noticed that too. My own feeling is that it's something to do with weight (both literal and figurative) - particularly since when David was 'taken', everything else that had disappeared was returned. So, some kind of conservation of mass thing seems to be taking place. Whether that's relevant.... *shrug*

*massive hugs back* thank you, I think I'm through the worst of it now. Definitely listening to it in daylight and with people around... I really need my sleep at the moment! (But knowing its there is soooo tempting)

I think we all agree the table from MAG 3 and this vase is connected (due to the hypnotic pattern of lines found on both).
We have had both Amy Patel and Jon Sims describe the table having a hole in the middle of it which looks like something should go in there... anyone else think the vase belongs in the middle of the table?
we saw what can happen when the vase is in the middle of a normal table (everything gets pushed out of it and so does some creepy fingers), what happens when its in the middle of the table?
Can we know for sure when Sasha saw the table it didn't have the vase in the middle? last we heard of the vase was it had disappeared.
