So... How about that case file, right? Some really good touches with the story - particularly making something of that feeling of having misplaced things that many of us, I'm sure, have experienced. Nice reincorporation of Salesa bringing relevance to MAG #14 and we now can wonder just how many Salesa related artefacts are sitting in storage there. And hopefully I'm not the only one now thinking of parallels with Warehouse 13? Also, whilst it seems somewhat crass to mention it, I would like to thank Jonny for the casual initial mention that Andre has a husband - representation and normalisation in media is still a significant thing to many of us. So, thank you! (And interestingly, the presence of a marriage license suggests Andre & David got married in a non-UK jurisdiction, since it wasn't legal here until 2014.) But, that ending...

The casual mention of books in Salesa's warehouse makes me wonder if he's picked up any additional Leitner tomes as well. Given his reaction to being told about the vase and the tunic, how much does he know about the things he sells? Also, he seemed considerably less paranoid than he was described as in MAG 14. Is that just because he knew that Andre wasn't a criminal?
We have the recurrence of another TMA theme here, with the description of the hypnotic pattern on the vase sounding rather like a fractal...
And that ending!

So many things referencing other Statements! First Salesa from MAG 14 (Piecemeal) but as Jonny says some of the more bizarre artefacts in the storage of the archives came from Salesa. Also the Spider... Mag 16 anyone? (Arachnophobia) I'm probably clutching at straws, but it could have been anything that caused the shelf to fall. the books! seeing as he was quite aware of the books makes me think there must be a lightner in there some ware . Also I'm pretty sure this isn't our first gay statement giver... from what I remember Antonio Blake (MAG 11 - Dreamer) broke up with his boyfriend Graeme (which helped lead to his breakdown and start of the weird dreams). good to see the Paranormal and Esoteric doesn't discriminate

interestingly, the presence of a marriage license suggests Andre & David got married in a non-UK jurisdiction Yeah, I wondered about that, since it would technically have been a civil union at the time of the statement - didn't think about a marriage license from another jurisdiction, though! Agree that it's always nice to see more LGBT inclusion. Honestly, I think appreciate it most of all when it's casual like that. By the time the spider showed up I was expecting the ending to Go Badly in a loud and dramatic manner and it still did me a frighten, so kudos for that too. This is the second time Salesa has come up in relation to things unnaturally disappearing. Another set of intricate geometric patterns, too. Going to need a second, analytical listen to this one.

Sorry for posting again but I completely forgot... THE CREEPY THING COMING OUT OF THE VASE! was that a creature that has a horrible case of Kleptomania, or was it a dead body?
I'm guessing this series is 40 episodes long... will all these red strings come together? I'm not sure all our questions will be answered.

As to whether it all comes together... well, you'll have to listen on ;-) And something tells me we're gonna still be needing red string supplies in the future.

I think Jonny's already mentioned a meta-plot developing over "years", so I don't think we should expect a lot of answers at the end of this season! One of the things I really love about TMA is the way the unanswered questions leave you pondering long after the episode is over...

Sorry for posting again but I completely forgot... THE CREEPY THING COMING OUT OF THE VASE! was that a creature that has a horrible case of Kleptomania, or was it a dead body? Given that he also vanished, it could well have been the husband. I doubt anyone disappearing into a cursed vase would reappear in particularly good shape. Since Andre (sensibly) ran after the fingertips appeared, he wouldn't have recognized him if it had been David... assuming he was still recognizable. It could, of course, have been the thing responsible for the disappearances, in which case it may have been coming to collect him as well? I can't shake the feeling there's a connection in this episode we haven't seen yet, though.

I'm not sure why but I am reminded of MAG 2 (do not open)... something about those fingernails being dirty, and the fingernails scratching on the coffin.
perhaps its a creature that takes people and wipes them out of existence. It happened to John when Beacon and Hope came to pick the coffin up. perhaps it happened to Andre's husband?

We have the recurrence of another TMA theme here, with the description of the hypnotic pattern on the vase sounding rather like a fractal... It was the dictionary definition of a fractal This absolutely is nothing, but the items listed as being bought alongside the vase (revolutionary sabers and an artilerymans tunic) also have parallels - anything linked to the Revolutionary War obviously hints at MAG29, and in MAG4 Dominic Swaine recollects that his favourite jacket was an artilerymans tunic bought from an Oxfam. More evidence that Prentiss has a connection with spiders - I wonder if this one will haunt the Archives? I liked that Salesa had books, but I'm not convinced they're all Leitners - yet. Finally, an open letter to Jonathan Sims- Jonathan, If you ever, ever, EVER end a post-statement summary with "before I get to..." again, you deserve everything you get. Sincerely, The Fans

Ah, thank you, I knew I'd heard of the artilleryman's tunic before but I couldn't remember where, and the WW1 link had me stuck on MAG7.

We have the recurrence of another TMA theme here, with the description of the hypnotic pattern on the vase sounding rather like a fractal... It was the dictionary definition of a fractal Exactly what I was thinking! I kept thinking of MAG 4: Pageturner with the whole "looking at it gives me headaches" bit. Also, I'm sure there's some significance with the favorite book being Catch-22, but I'm afraid I'm not well-versed in the plot. Anyone have a guess? Or perhaps not as relevant as I think. STORY TIME. It also reminded me of this (apparently real) Reddit thread. (Click the grey icon under the title at the top for the OP's story) Basically, a guy posted in a subreddit for legal advice because he thought his landlord was sneaking into his house and leaving post-it notes all over his apartment, wanting to know what recourse he had. The notes contained things like a to-do list for errands only HE knew about (so was the landlord spying?), and the notes got increasingly more creepy, such as "Our landlord isn't letting me talk to you, but it's important we do." Normal people commented with advice, being the subreddit that it is, but at some point, someone was like... "Unless you're joking, I think it's you leaving these notes. It sounds like you have CO poisoning. You should really get a detector." The OP said he WAS having these bad headaches... then the minute he plugged his CO detector in, it read off-the-charts. That commenter likely saved the poster's life.
