I'm not sure if this is the kind of music that soothes the savage beast since the quiet that comes from its wake is an altogether more macabre proposition.
Nice to see that the Archivist is back at work as we pull up a case from a few years back. I'm sure many of us can attest to seeing up-and-coming bands in dark cellars and cramped performance spaces in our youth. Not to mention the heady days of ephemeral websites with niche news, struggling to find out when the next gig from that amazing group you heard that one time is.
And that supplemental note...

It's nice to see Magnus back to doing what Magnus does best - original, creepy, storytelling.
Also, fun fact - Ms. Ling is mistaken when she describes the night as a "mild November" one - the events took place a week prior to the 3rd, putting it late October. Given her experiences, perhaps this isn't surprising.
Also, I now think Martin is totally innocent. Funny how that works.

Bringing a Hammer to your own head while watching a video of a band you recorded, is so metal. \m/ \m/

Is it just me, or is anyone else dying to hear some of Martin's poetry?

Is it just me, or is anyone else dying to hear some of Martin's poetry? As long as it's not actually fatal.

I wonder if there's any relationship between Alfred Grifter and Jurgen Leitner. Both the books and the music seem to drive people to horrific acts, although I am curious about the spirits(?) of the dead involved with Grifter. Although now that I think about, Mary Keye was seen up and about long after her death...
Curioser and curioser

Perhaps Grifters Bone are singing the words from The Bone Turner's Tale. Ick.

Jonny, I mean this in the most complimentary way possible. You are a twisted, creepy man. Never stop.
Ugh, when this episode started I figured I could get through it without chills. Mope. By the time she described the performance....eeeeugh. *shudder*

My burning question after this episode was whether Jennifer Ling had met Antonio Blake from 'Dreamer' or Oliver from the crystal shop in 'Hive'. Or whether Antonio and Oliver were the same person.

Curioser and curioser It does seem like most things are interconnected, even if we don't know exactly how, so I wouldn't be at all surprise about a connection between the music and Leitner's books. They both seem to play on people's fears and bad things that they've done/have already happened to them in similar ways. I do think that Alfred Grifter has some sort of relationship to the creepy new nursing home director from Taken Ill, since they're described similarly (skinny, creepy looking, brown suits that are too big). I feel like the description of Grifter's suit "hanging like flaps of loose skin" has come up somewhere, too, maybe in that episode? That's a mental image that sticks with you (in a good, decidedly creepy way).

Is it just me, or is anyone else dying to hear some of Martin's poetry? As long as he's not a Vogon in disguise! Hi everyone, I'm new here. Just caught up with season one, which was tremendous! Love the opening to season two - poor Jonathon. And why haven't we heard from not-Sasha yet? All the others have been mentioned. Curiouser and curiouser, as Alice would say. Looking forward to joining Jonathan for more trips down the rabbit hole!

It's stqated that Antonio Blake isn't a real name, so I think it's a safe assumption at this point. As to whether this guy is the Oliver/Blake, I can't say.
