And so we round out 2016 by bringing Season 1 to a close and it's probably quite fitting that we're in sombre mood with all the revelations. There is much to ponder and decisions as to where to go next to be made but now is a time for reflection and recuperation. I daresay that Paris no longer holds much lustre... That said, a great episode both to wrap up the various, often confusing, salient points of their adventures below Paris and to convey the confusion and difficulties that often should come when something major like this happens but, as mentioned with the Avengers movie, rarely gets shown on screen. Brock's final message, the awkward conversation with Madeleine, Zolf's terseness with Wilde and Hamid's sheer force of will, I think, are all superb keynotes in what is a very difficult situation and nicely capped/offset by Bertie's sheer refusal to be cowed by anything - even suddenly being conversant in French. So, what thoughts about where to next? How have you found Season 1? What were your highpoints and any suggestions for the future? There will be a bit of a break before we start Season 2 but we do have some specials to bring you during the interim including a Q&A, some recaps and a gaming special from seanfsmith!

Hi all, first time poster here. I've loved RQ since the beginning and I can't wait for season 2 to start.
Just had a quick thought about the last episode though.
When Sasha took off her jacket to allow Zolf to heal the falcon wound I thought it would be hilarious if Bertie would have spotted the impressed falcon marking and (since he doesn't know he caused it) just assumed that she was a secret relative of his. Ridiculousness ensues!

Hey Starspell, good to meet you! It's a nice idea but one problem, you want Bertie "why-aren't-I-moving-oh-it's-a-door-KILL-IT" Maguffingham to actually notice something! It'll never happen.

Finally got around to listening! Great episode. Can't help thinking that Madeline is the "one that got away" since she's the one who's least affected by all the chaos. Or maybe Magnus hasn't gone into the height of its red string season, so I've got to use it somehow.
I'm instituting a Hamid stress scale, with "slightly worried tone" at the beginning, "oh dear" in the middle, and "crying" at the end.
I must be the only person in the universe who's glad to see the back of Brutor (for now).

Without going "here is our emotional making-up scene." It's always so nice to see/hear some great roleplay. Wilde turning up and annoying the PCs is one of my guilty pleasures, which seems appropriate. Now, if only Edward from the Bertie side uest would show up next season...

I've been meaning to post on this thread for a few weeks but haven't quite got together what I wanted to say - I've enjoyed this season so much, just posting to say that it was great didn't seem enough. But it was brilliant, I've had so much fun listening, and I eagerly anticipate season 2 (but hope everyone, especially Alex, gets the opportunity for a nice break in between).
I'm currently planning a game I'm going to run, which I doubt I ever would have done before. So thank you!

Maybe between 5 and 6?

Season thoughts: I've really, REALLY enjoyed this show, and I think Season 1 really did a good job building on the prologue. We really start to get a sense of what the wider world is like and how big the issue is that the party have to investigate. All the characters really started to develop too. Hamid is still my favorite, but Sasha and Zolf really shined in this arc. I especially feel for Zolf with this crisis over his missing legs. Going from being the leader and most experienced member to being dependent on everyone for basic mobility is rough-- plus the whole "whoops, we kinda had to crash the world economy and that's gonna be a mess" problem. Bertie is still Bertie. I'm not terribly sad Brutor is gone, though-- he deserves so much better than Bertie. Hopefully he finds a nice happy home elsewhere. I also want to note-- MAJOR kudos on the reveal of Mr. Ceiling's fake reality. Like. I HEARD the party all fail their will saves, I KNEW that meant their memories would be altered, and then I STILL immediately just rolled with the giant robot fight and celebrations afterward, not really twigging that something was wrong until just before the characters did. Not story related, but I feel it's worth mentioning that the editing on the podcast is also really really good. I listen to a lot of podcasts, and having really nice clean editing makes a huge difference in listening experience. Plus: the background sound effects are great. I haven't heard other actual plays do that kind of thing and it really helped make things feel extra immersive.

Glad you're enjoying it. I have to admit, the main reason other shoes don't do it is because it is a Massive amount of extra work.
