OR: "It Isn't Over Until the Halfling... Oh."Well then... the curtain is about to come down, and despite the heroics, the epic confrontations, the battle is both won and lost it would seem. LOLOMG's attempts to stop an evil necromancer may be over but at what cost? Hamid lost his mind and Bertie... well, Bertie seems to have to lost the battle with himself to be a decent man, let alone a hero. It would appear that seeing the faded and broken aristocratic estates of Prague may have been somewhat prophetic. Is this The Fall of the House of MacGuffingham? What cost victory? SMASH CUT TO: The backstreets of Paris where, amidst the chaos of La Gourmande's minions and the burning of Eiffel's Folly, a wandering Brutor pauses his investigation of a pile of twisted metal, smiles and gently whuffs in amusement... So... Where do they go from here? (appropriate up to the 1m22s mark)

Gosh. That was dramatic. I think I'll need to listen to that one again before I can formulate a response!

\(^U^)/Awesome! (>__<) Awful! \(>__<)♥/ BOTH!!! Seriously, this is fantastic roleplaying from all of you, I love it! Such a mean cliffhanger though! Will Hamid be found by the surviving team? Feebleminded creatures/persons can still identify their friends, so at least he would go with them. What will happen if the Feeblemind-spell is lifted? Hamid will have more questions than answers. Are the wizards even willing to help when they see what he is? Or are they even less helpful? Does Grizzop know a healer can remove the spell? And what about Hamid's sister? Can Bertie be revived before Harkness, Harkness and Darkness show up? Does it matter with strike #3? Will James' follow-up character be just as funny/awful? And most importantly, WHY DO WE HAVE TO WAIT A WHOLE WEEK FOR MORE? Aaargh! ♥

Bertie kind of deserves eternity in the flaming poo dimension at this point, but I'm going to miss his awfulness if this is the last we've seen of him.
Fantastic episode, though! I can't wait to see where things go from here. Especially since we have one member of the party suffering from un-death, one member suffering from ego death, another suffering from death-death, and poor Grizzop who's doing alright, but really chose the wrong time to join in on their adventures.

In regards to Bertie there are of course several possibilities. There could be a side quest to escape the plain of the damned. Resurrection is a possibility. Personally I think I would prefer him to not be brought back. As much as I love the character I think resurrection can cheapen some of the decision making and combat because characters can be brought back. You lose some of the drama if "you can't die". That said I think reincarnation could be interesting. Random chance for Bertie to come back in his prime as any number of things. Imagine Bertie reincarnated as a gnome. Such a tiny man inherently prejudiced against his own race.

Oh, sorry, I totally forgot to say thank you for the shout out! ♥ (And Ben even pronounced my surname mostly right, that doesn't happen often. XD Massive kudos and another heartfelt thank you to you, Sir!)

Wow, I had to make an account just to say this was an amazing (and oddly heartbreaking) episode. Bertie was always a bit of a monster, but it's still sad to see him go. I also have to give James credit for making Bertie, er, 'true to himself' right to the very end.
If this is indeed the end of the road for Bertie, it will be interesting to see who James plays next. He does the loudmouth braggart character so well that it'll be a bit of a shock to see him doing anything else!

Oh my goodness, I was at the edge of my seat big time! You all did fantastic. I was totally into it, and the way you guys roll with the dice (no pun intended), continues to be just phenomenal. Especially those not-needed natural 20's and the critical failures.
Can I just say, now that I am caught up, I cannot wait for the next episode. Oh boy, where oh where do we go from here?
So far for Berti, I was holding up onto the hope he'd AT LEAST SAVE HAMID's SISTER! You cruel, cruel jerk! You deserve the poo dimension. You really do. Ok, no. Let's revive him and then let him live in shame. Sasha continues to do beautifully, except on her blunders... but she's more of an undead these days than normal. How did her illness progress so quickly? Ouch. So we're down a priest, down our tank/damage dealer, partially out of a mage... Sasha and Grizzop, the future of whatever is left is up to you!
I have a hope/feeling that since they did do so well and they're at the heart of magical institutions, Bertie should be resurrected, and Hamid turned back. What I am not sure is how the lawyers and everyone else in the world is going to take Bertie's possible return. We need a priest! Zolf!

I just kept thinking the entire time they were in the opera house "why is nobody yelling into the communication stone 'KAFKA IS HERE AND EVERYTHING HAS GONE TO HELL GET HERE NOW'?"

We may or may not have forgotten the mobile stones existed at the time...

or at least, the person holding it had....
though actually by the time grizzop knew kafka was there, it was already too late. we'd split the party and grizzop (with the stone) being occupied in the basement meant the worst had mostly happened by the point he'd have been able to.
