OR: "The Red Menace"Well, the curtain may have fallen but the show's not over yet folks - there's the tidy-up to go as Meritocratic forces in the shape of the Cult of Mars sweep in to clean house. And a old friend comes to pay his respects... and be condescendingly mysterious. *sigh* We can only hope that Wilde will mourn Bertie in his own way. Apologies for anyone's ears - the episode got a little high-pitched on many fronts But oh my poor, sweet Hamid - some really excellent work from Bryn here on conveying his loss and the 'I'm at the edge of my tether' outbursts were just perfect. But it looks like Hamid's past is definitely coming back to haunt him, as we have the spectre of an ex- to deal with on top of everything else. And what of the dragon in the room? Is no-one gonna mention Bolla Smok... ALSO: Don't forget you have until Friday 10pm GMT to get your questions into us for the Season 2 Q&A episode. Please leave any questions you may have in this thread - cheers!

This was great! I didn't think you'd all be able to make this heartbreaking situation as funny as you did! Grizzop was so awesome! First the nice comforting and then how he riled up the Mars-zealot. I was laughing so hard imagining her chasing this little, clanky, annoying Goblin around fruitlessly. XD ♥ Also very interesting to hear what the Mars-lot think about Goblins. Now I'm looking even more forward to hear about how and if Goblins are included into society or whether Grizzop is one of a few 'tolerated' exceptions. I mean, even Bertie said the mage who asked what Grizzop was was rude. Hearing Hamid flip was fun, as sorry as I feel for him. He has every right to be on the edge and angry about the lack of respect and understanding. Him letting it out was good to hear. And poor Sasha. I said it before, her undead status is interesting and amazing, but it makes for a lot of problems. Her reactions to the interrogation (or rather lack thereof) was hilarious. As much as Sasha was against the talking thing, it was better to sort this out, even if it needed Wilde to step in. Very excited for the next episodes, as always!

I feel I should probably apologise for the screeching. Sorry to everyone listening through headphones.

I think that the leader of the Cult of Mars is probably von Moltke the elder. Fits the time and (roughly) the location.

I don't even know who that is. Obviously I could google but I feel like a summary from you guys would be more entertaining, if you are willing...

He’s actually a really interesting read, but the short story is that he was the head of the Prussian General Staff, and a genius at logistics and military matters. There’s the common misconception that Bismarck was the military power for Prussia, but that was actually von Moltke, who managed to defeat the Austrian army in about 6 weeks, and beat the French in the Franco-Prussian War. That is the quick explanation of who von Moltke (the elder) was. A more modern Gaius Marius, who changed the face of European warfare.

Another few fun facts: Helmuth von Moltke had a nephew also named Helmuth. The nephew was dubbed, with typical Prussian efficiency, 'von Moltke the Younger'. von Moltke the Younger was the head of the German Army during the opening offensive of World War I. Unfortunately, 'the Younger' was not quite the equal of his uncle and wound up replaced after the Germans had to retreat from the Marne.

You guys are super educational. I love learning new things from forums, where people say you can't learn anything. (Heartfelt sentiment. I love the fun facts!)
As for this episode, it was quite the outstanding balance of dealing with tragedy of what just happened, Hamid boiling over and Grizzop making a probably homocide/genocide-capable bulky fighter froth at the mouth. I am surprised he didn't offer to take her out for walksies along with her new ball sport. (Sorry, I just think the word walksies is dreadfully endearing)
I did find it particularly interesting that in a world so diverse, there were some that are racist by design. Good thing Grizzop was totally unfazed. I recognize he's not part of an usual race, but not the first out of place race we've seen (remembering the poor merman at Poseidon's god HQ), and the party didn't really bat an eye.

Now that we've seen Grizzop's ability to wind someone up, I don't think he's 100% goblin.
I suspect he's at least...
Part troll!
(Puts on sunglasses)
(Roger Daltrey starts screaming YYYEEEEEAAAAAHHHHHH!)
