OR: "On the Other Side of the Coin"Well, this episode does nothing to disprove that meeting up with your ex is often a bad idea... And we get some interesting philosophy from both pairs as Grizzop & Sasha discuss religious ethics, appropriate reward structures and goblin outlooks while Hamid & Liliana have a difference of opinions on research ethics, paramours and history - as we find out more about why Hamid got sent down from Cambridge. Some very juicy backstory, even if Hamid does venture into the realms of the super-vocal at times . So whose side do you come down on - does Liliana have a point or is she just blithely dismissive of outcomes? Is Hamid coloured by jealousy and recklessness? And can you see Sasha turned to the Path of Artemis to guide her through troubling times and this bout of undeadedness?

very good episode! its nice to hear Hamid coming out of his shell a little and finding out some more of his story, I'm definitely rooting for Hamid to get through to Liliana and change her mind/persuade her of the truth.

When I am listening to these episodes myself it does feel like past Bryn is reaching out through time to reprimand me for being too loud. My offence and my punishment are two halves of the same coin.
This was absolutely not how I had expected Liliana to turn up when I wrote her in to my backstory. It was very upsetting, hence the volume.
I also hadn't reviewed my backstory recently enough when recording this episode, so the exact details of the arguments Hamid presents to Liliana are possibly incorrect from some perspectives, but I'm not sure that matters too much. The emotional content of the conversation is certainly true to the character.

Seems good to me! This episode was so tough on Hamid again. He almost dies to get to Liliana, then this is how it goes. Alex is cruel, but the drama is excellent.

I never listen with head-phones, so I'm fine with you screaming and laughing as high-pitched and loud as you want. Since it's a very Hamid reaction at this point anyway I guess most people prepare themselves for loudness once the feels get going. XD (For everyone who doesn't you could maybe include a warning at the start of the episode? I think that should work.) Being surprised by your own backstory and derived characters is a great way to get real surprise and emotions. I like it! ♥ *hands Hamid a cuddly blanket while giving a thumbs up* That'll be an awful awakening for Liliana once she realizes what transpired while she was working in there. And, oh, the feeling when you can't get all the loot! Reminds me about every time I wasn't able to hoard something in games due to inventory weight/space limits. All this time snail-walking in TES... The pain! Nice that they could grab the conveniently placed Bags of holding, though. One never can get enough of those! If they're lucky they have stuff in them already. Sasha's reaction to the vault was so great! "Yourself is people, right?" Her desperately trying to open the bags. XD And I really like Grizzop's attitude towards looting. As expected, great 'despite' being Lawful Good. "Any means necessary while on the hunt. Everything for the pack!" Also - Newton's asshole-laugh was fantastic, it cracked me up so much! XD

Poor Hamid! Though really, he can do better than a woman who doesn't even acknowledge it when he mentions that his sister just died. Maybe she was too wrapped up in her own anger to absorb it, but man, that's cold. Incidentally, is Lilliana also a halfing, or is she human? I don't remember if it was mentioned.
I'm excited to finally know exactly why Hamid got kicked out, and oh boy, it's much worse than I expected. Suddenly his whole "sometimes you do bad things without meaning to because other people get you into it" thing from early on has a lot more resonance. I'm extremely curious about what he was actually trying to do. I wonder if he'll open up to the others, now that they know a little bit.
Also I'm very happy about Sasha's continued habit of straight-out asking the awkward questions of Grizzop. I hope they become pals. Sasha could use more friends (especially after Zolf left. I always felt like she was closest to him.)

Forgot to ask. Are Newton's office environment and the snowglobe-house two permanent, modified versions of Mordenkainen’s Magnificent Mansion?
