We open up the mailbag to answer your questions about Season 2, as Helen steps out of the cupboard and the shadows of Bertie and into the studio proper. The crew talk about new characters, Classics and dogs as Alex exhorts all the people to STOP ASKING QUESTIONS! Hope that despite all of Alex's best attempts, some answers managed to escape amidst all the laughter, rabbit holes and tangents

So far most of the reactions to this episode seem to be animorphs based...

Animorphs spin-off podcast?! I had a child just so I'd have someone else to talk about them with. It's completely unrelated that my current campaign character is a bear shapeshifter.
I find the idea of Elias GM'ing a TMA game of Vampire: the Masquerade absolutely delightful.

I find the idea of Elias GM'ing a TMA game of Vampire: the Masquerade absolutely delightful. Agreed! Any game, really. XD Sorry to Ben for the difficult forum-name. (It's the Latin name for henbane.) And I'm also very excitedly waiting for a picture of Grizzop and Azu. It's always so much fun to listen to you all! Honestly, I would totally listen to a take-outs/blooper episode with just the weird noises and laughter.

I'm not convinced about the weird noises, but the laughter is pretty great imo - we should can it and sell it to terrible american sitcoms.

I do enjoy how much you’re all having behind the scenes and can’t wait to hear more of the recorded episodes including Helen. The group camaraderie has always come through in podcast from the very beginning, and it’s clear that she has become a solid member of LOLOMG.
And I specifically loved Bryn’s outrage at Alex choosing to pair Hamid’s ex up with his enemy. All part of respecting the GM’s craft...

I mean... yes, the Animorphs discussion was definitely a highlight for me. Those books are great. Terrifying nightmare fuel, but also great. Always nice to find other people that they scarred horribly forever. Looking forward to seeing the start of Season 3, too, after the ominous hints about how badly things go...

This is why my "FIANCE!" screech was so loud when Alex dropped that bomb back in episode 83. It was so far from an outcome I imagined when I first wrote those characters into my backstory. It genuinely felt like a weird betrayal, but it was an amazing twist from Alex. I sort of feel like it all got shuffled away pretty quickly, so who knows if these threads will come back again?

To be honest, there is not much more that I want for a Rusty Quill Gaming thing than a game of Vampire The Masquerade being hosted by Elias.

Bryn talks about primeness being agnostic of the base in which a number is representedMe: Yay! Bryn is the best! He says all the things I'm thinking while I listen! He's my audience participation podcaster! Bryn admits that he doesn't listen to The Magnus ArchivesMe: OPINION REVERSED. BRYN MAKES NO SENSE TO ME ANYMORE. audible heartbreakThe discussion about being emotionally drained from being deeply invested in characters is so true in my experience. I've had to retire a LARP character once just because it took way too much out of me. It's so worth it, though. It's the best part of role playing. Cathartic is the word Lydia used, and I think that's exactly right. I just wanted to say, overall, you guys are super wonderful and listening to RQG is a huge joy for me. It's amazing to listen to such a quality podcast made by people who (at least in your public personas) remind me of me and my friends. RQG just keeps getting better and I love Helen already! Her reactions are perfect, and I'm crazy excited for more Azu. Also, the poly quad jokes! Definitely not the first time I've encountered comparisons between polycules and adventuring parties. The similarities are real. The LOLOMG poly quad is such an adorable thought. <3

I really want to, but I just can't cope with horror at all as a genre. I still follow it pretty closely by reading what people say about it here on the forums (and sometimes on Tumblr too).

I still follow it pretty closely by reading what people say about it here on the forums (and sometimes on Tumblr too). Oh, no need to apologize! I am being silly. I can completely understand having a categorical issue with horror. Horror is, among other things, a way to experience anxiety recreationally. Very understandably not fun for everyone. (I vaguely recall you saying at one point that you didn't like cheese, though, and that heartbreak may never heal. )
