So, yeah... This episode was strange.

Now suitably the Halloween style theme tune really made me really jump when came to listen to it last night... But It was mostly my own fault with my volume settings...
There is something 'bout you guys that really gets me laughing, but this is another episode that had me in stiches! (I think I've liked everything so far...) - It's also really interesting to hear folk be good (?) at Dredd? I was chatting about RPGs with a close friend of mine a couple of months ago that he died really early on walking down a corridor playing a game that involved *cough* Jenga *cough* blocks. The fear of death at any point makes for tense listening!
...I have a feeling I'm going to be quoting Alex alot today, LOVED his 'spooooooky' GM voice...
"You are in a bed. It's coooooomfy, it's quite downy on the pillow side but in a nice way. A SCARILY nice way!"
"Remove THREE blocks"
"There's no time for logic it's scary!"

I enjoyed it listening back too, it made me laugh. I think we were all fairly irreverent about the whole thing, which is the only sensible way to approach the genre in my opinion.

It's a weird one. I have to admit that whilst the Dredd system is good for a game with lots of levity, I think it has some serious issues if you are trying to play it more seriously.

It does seem to be a bit all-or-nothing in nature. Conceptually I think it's a good mechanic for the genre but I think there'd have to be greater restrictions on pulling blocks for a more serious game and I'm not sure I'd personally appreciate a random death by the game's caprice.
