Not exactly a tour de force by the other three members of the party in this episode. And what with the unconscious halfling and dead dog, things do not look good for our heroes.

What?! You never kill the dog! It's, like, the first rule of fiction - if you kill a dog you become an irredeemable villain, and that covers GMs as well. Bad form.

The words 'oh, I'm a cleric' reminded me of every single time I play a cleric

This could have easily been a party wipe if Sasha did not have access to bombs. It's times like these that I am thankful for the frankly absurd amount of material Paizo has put out.

Alex giveth ridiculous animal friends and Alex taketh away. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA.
Seriuosly though i regret only the lost opportunities of him getting the party even deeper in trouble.
I have to admit I really did ratchet up the danger in this dungeon, it was about time for another paddlin'...

Alex did a Whedon. Made us love something then killed it!!!
- but, dear god I didn't realise how invested I was in these characters until it all started going a bit wrong and that we could loose them!!
Thank goodness for 'Sasha the Swarm Killer'

Welcome to the roller coaster of role-playing games.
If Bertie wants to get another dog, I know a string of feats that would allow him a level appropriate animal companion. It would be a little more durable this time, even though nothing could replace the fallen.

I suspect Bertie will just rock around taming everyone and everything he meets. Don't fret Nash, Brutor will get a cameo on Marvel Agents of Shield now.

Woah, woah. It's definitely in my contract that I get first refusal of any Whedon related gigs. No dead dog is gonna queue jump me.

R.I.P Brutor. YOU were the good boy all along. Yes you were! You were the good boy... I like that Sasha has suddenly discovered that (in this situation at least) a good old fashioned carpet bombing can be as satisfying as a sneaky sneaky stabby stabby. I also enjoyed the end of episode interaction between Sasha and Zolf. She's been with the "Rangers" for what? Less than a week? And already Zolf is rolling his eyes and sighing. I can almost hear him muttering "Blimmin' Rogues". Oh, and as I've only just caught up I'm going to note that I really enjoyed Zolf and Hamid's working relationship starting to develop in Drowning-gate even though that was several episodes ago now. I can see the group are really forming those non-plot driven bonds that really keep them together.

Yeah, Hamid and Zolf really get some good little nuances going from here on in. I wouldn't say it's all flowers and kittens so much as drowning and claws but it's cute nonetheless.
