One question about Zolf and his magically ways. Do his powers diminish if he's far away from water?
I haven't heard any mechanism so far (and truthfully I'm not expecting this to be a thing), but I figure that London has the Thames, and then it was Dover - both well served by water (not least the rain as it's Britain).
As there were hints of Middle East and possibly other dryer parts of the world, would Zolf's separation from Poseidon cause issues with trying to channel his deity's energy?

As general 'rule finder' (that's unofficial by the way) for Rusty Quill, I would say that it is down to the GM whether it happens or not, there is nothing specific that I can find in the rules regarding being away from domainal powers (salt water for Zolf) but a former GM that I played with would reduce certain clerical powers if they didn't pray every day by his own set of rules. I assume that Alex would probably do this anyway, as it would make sense for the story. Hope this somewhat answers your question

A cleric's powers are granted by the God/Concept/whatever the cleric has pledged themselves to. So as long as you keep that entity happy, you'll retain your powers regardless of where you are (unless you enter an area where that entity has no power - like the plane of a rival deity or something). So the reason Zolf's powers would have been diminished wasn't due to where he was, but to something he did (or maybe didn't) do.

Just quickly checking (as this thread seems to be appropriate), Zolf's domain is water and subdomain is oceans isn't it.

Zolf's domains are Islands (which is admittedly a third party domain, but was justified in that it enabled an armoured, disabled sailor to not instantly drown - plus Poseidon is associated with creating islands when he's feeling nice), and vanilla Water.
