Dulce et decorum est, they said To children marching east with zest...
A historical tale from the trenches this week wherein we get some new insight into one of the foremost British war poets and an interesting take on the horrors of war.

I only paid any attention to poetry after I was introduced to Owen and Sassoon. Still love the little guy even though I'm rather unpoetically inclined.
I loved every second of this 'cast - you really worked the story hard for this!

Resurrecting old threads because I'm new to the podcast If this is for The Piper, I missed how the narrator survived if he heard the song! Perhaps I should listen again, but I have more archives to go through!

Welcome Kitsune! There is something thematically appropriate to resurrecting dead threads for the archive.

Perhaps I should listen again, but I have more archives to go through! Welcome, Kitsune! I don't think the protagonist got the full brunt of it, or just heard it on the wind because he was near the chap who survived (sorry, on phone can't check names!). There is also a point where he said he wasn't sure if he ever really heard it, so maybe he just imagined all the times he heard it.

Thanks, spoonier! That makes sense. And Alex, I'll try not to use my resurrection powers for evil...
