As a bonus recording for the Magnus Archives, we're planning to cap the Season 1 recordings with an interview with Jonny, in his capacity as writer of the show.
If you have any burning questions about what you have heard, about the show and its technical aspects, about the horror genre, metanarratives or the ideas that go towards making Magnus what it is, then please let us know here - we'll take a fair selection and hopefully slake your curiosity.
Naturally, we won't be revealing any spoilers, so major questions about the storyline are likely to go unanswered I'm afraid (plus we still have a goodly number of episodes to go before we close the season).
So, fire away!

Where did he get his inspiration for the Magnus archive from?

How deep does this go?
Is it something you have planned meticulously down to every single statement? or is it something you are just letting it roam free and just seeing how it goes?
You previously mentioned in the Lost Johns Cave episode you did a lot of research into Caving for the story. Of the episodes we have heard what was your favourite thing to research?

Have you ever been tempted to incorporate one of the fan theories into your overarching narrative, or do you keep everything as you originally planned?
Kinda related, but:
Are they all interlinked somehow? Have you ever written an episode as an offhand, but decided to weave it into your master plan?
Finally:
Is the voice of Jonathon Simms the archivist the same as your natural speaking voice? If not, why not?

I wanna know how you got into writing and (not for spoilers) how did you craft the story? Did it start with the main event and then work backwards? Is it like all our cork boards and bits of string? - where was the inspiration taken from for episodes/statements (I feel like it must be meticulously planned as in the other similar questions)
How do you get to sleep at night?
(Or how do you prepare to record an episode? Alex directs but what does that involve? I'm interested in the technical performing aspect of these recording)
Are there Magnus bloopers? Has Jonathon Sims EVER laughed?

Have you ever considered your fixation with invasive worms from a freudian perspective?

Who was that assumedly incredibly handsome and charismatic fellow who voiced Elias?

Why (narratologically, rather than canonically) does the Magnus Institute only collate information and not engage with their learnings (beyond supplementary clarification investigation)?
For season two, are you interested in guest writers? I, uh, know a guy.

In the first episode Jonathan sims mentioned he has worked in the organization for 4 years but doesn't seem to know the previous archivist. There are also mentions of "the ivory tower of pure academia" is it a seperate organization or another branch? But most importantly would we get to explore these in the following seasons :3.
keep up the good work!

I'm not sure how many episodes there will be in this season, but I think we'll know by the time this is released, so I'll say "When will The Magnus Archives return?", "Will other seasons be of a similar length?" and "Is there currently enough interest to keep this podcast going? If not, how can we (as listeners and fans) help?"

How long does it take to write each story? What are YOUR fears? (Since I quite enjoyed Jonathan's answer to "Any plans for a TV show?" you could loop that in here )

I'm not sure how many episodes there will be in this season, Since it's not technically a question for the recording, I can safely say that the season is planned to be 40 episodes long :-)

These may have been asked before, sorry if they have!
1. How long have you (Jonny) been planning this? Is it something you've always wanted to do and were actively seeking out for a long time, or did you have the idea more recently?
2. How did you start to work with Rusty Quill? I don't really know how the organisation works, are you just friendly with those involved?
3. You've been very specific in TMA fot the reasons that Sims is recording on tape, but how does the sound play into this? I was wondering when listening to MAG 29: Cheating Death, where Deaths voice is distorted on the recording. It's an interesting idea that somethings are so fundamentally unnatural that they would cause corruption to recordings of it, but what about there music that plays for the atmosphere? Is that an actual thing that's on the tapes and thus canonical, or is it just something for the listeners?
4. Do you know rigidly exactly where everything will end up in the story? Or have you introduced a few threads where you're not sure how they'll resolve? Like, did you introduce the coffin from one of the earlier episodes and just have it as a throw away thing that you might use later?

5. How do you feel about the level of scrutiny your work gets from listeners (okay, just a few of us). Does the listeners picking up on minor details that are incorrect (wrong dates said, wrong case numbers, etc) outweigh listening to people on the forums going into their own theories in depth?

1)It's been confirmed that you like M.R James, so what's your favourite story of his? Other inspirations?
(I am turning to the person who mentions M.R James every second post, for which I can only apologise)
2) What's it like having the ability to interact so closely with your fanbase? Would you do it again?
