Oh no, no creepy horror . I mean you can torture them or even nearly kill them, but can they keep their limbs and get no autopsys, maybe?

Although to be fair, they are quite good at trying to kill them themselves. 😉 And seriously Alex, your GMing is really good.

Hello, welcome to the forum! They are charmingly retro compared to all this modern social media stuff.

Hello,
I go by Akelis when gaming, so I assume that will work here too. Long time listener to RQG and use the metacasts while teaching a program at my office where we use tabletop gaming to help build social skills for teens with cognitive and emotional difficulties. Listening to the game play makes my day job easier to take. I work in a shelter for homeless teens and families escaping domestic violence, it can be brutal at times, so laughing through keeps me going in the times between when I get to run my own game for the kids here or be a player gaming with friends. Thank you for a lovely podcast and great metacasts that our teens really enjoy as they enrich the learning experience!

Being able to let the kids hear first how things are done by somebody that isn't "the teacher" and then to be able to follow along a little if they decide to listen to the podcast when they can use the computer lab. I can tell which ones listen to the story when I slip in occasional references while gaming just to see who is listening. The fact that I can trust that content is safe to use for a group of 14 - 19 year olds and includes language I will not be fired over.

As an ex-teacher I am genuinely excited that you're doing this, I'd love to hear any tales from your classroom that you'd be able to share.

Most of the students, as I mentioned, have some level of cognitive or emotional difficulties and games allow them to ignore or reverse that. Our rule is that everyone must agree to use diplomacy and problem solving and it is brilliant. So many of these kids who are convinced that maths are too difficult are playing with ease and doing wonderful.
So far our best moment was running the kids through a room of "stoned orcs". At some point a just less than evil bard convinced these orcs they were made of stone and if they are bumped over they will fall and shatter to bits. Players had to sneak through the room without bumping any or arousing their rage to get down the long hall where they are placed to block traffic.
It has been delightful to watch them all blossom as people as they play through these puzzles and get out of their shells of fear about their "ability". My next effort is to plan a game for our youth group of ages 8-12.
