I'm now starting to wonder if we shouldn't be producing #Magnus-branded corkboards and red string... Well, today we get a not-so official representative from the Police Federation talking about secrets and non-disclosures within the law and the Archivist scores a victory of sorts it seems. Some very nice references back to previous cases, deftly woven into what is quite a personal story. Kudos to the actor playing PC Hussain, they managed to convey a very real sense of isolation that comes with being 'sectioned'. Also, very nice showcasing of the language and euphemism that is very prevalent in police-speak. So, how many possible back references did we get here? I'll leave that up to you all to ponder :-) But a reminder that the wiki is available HERE and the case referenced as 0121102 is MAG #12 - First Aid. (Also bonus points to everyone who gets the reference of the thread title ;p)

No one expects the Magnus Inquisition?

This was a corker (do you see what I did there?)!
Looking forward to updating the wiki tomorrow to start gathering in the threads in this story, I feel like there are a lot. The one to MAG 12: First Aid, as well as the Spider Husks and all the stuff about Asag!

I'm SURE we've heard of a PC Hussein before. I can't track it down, and it isn't on the wiki, though...
Didn't spook me as much as intrigue me. Looking forward to hearing some of Gertrude's old tapes - it could shed a lot of light on a lot of things (Book of Solomon, hint hint).
Will put a timeline together soon and get the entries up. Should be interesting to have to integrate this statement with MAG 12!

Loved this episode! Didn't the woman also mention a "spooky clown doll"? It reminded me of MAG 24 (Strange Music). Maybe she was involved in that case as well!

Someone on tumblr pointed out the Section 31 is an organisation that appears in Star Trek - and Inquisition is one of the episodes they appear in.
Very interesting episode. More thoughts after second listening and once my sick brain has sorted itself out.

Ding, ding ding! 'Inquisition' is the first actual appearance of Section 31 in 'ST: Deep Space 9' :-) Plus it's a decent description, I think, for what the Archivist is doing.

Plus it's a decent description, I think, for what the Archivist is doing. yeah. he's crossing over to investigating for himself rather than the archive. I SO want to hear what are on the tapes and what they will reveal.

Someone suggested on Reddit that the suicide victim was one of the personifications of Death - do we think that's likely? Or am I a derp for missing it?

Had a thought while relistening to the series: I had thought that one of the officers mentioned in Episode 5, Saresh and Altman, would have been brought in as a Section 31 officer.

Just caught that the "suicide" victim had a lot of old domino sets around. Seems like the sort of thing owned by someone who might have played games for the last couple of hundred years... I'm wondering if this might have been what happened to Nathaniel Thorp.
