Strange fates and uncertain dreams of a dark city have brought a benighted soul to the doors of the Magnus Institute and a stark vision to the previous Head Archivist. What happened to Gertrude and does the same beckon for Mr Sims? Is there a semblance of plot in the darkness?
Only time - or dreams - may tell...

I'm pleased that given my reasons for suggesting Robinson was a really good archivist for the Magnus Institute, she and her role should feature so prominently in the very next episode.
The patterns and connections that play out between episodes, which we're already seeing at this early stage, are seen through a confused and disparate fog of statements with no kind of order to them. I imagine if everything WAS properly archived and cross referenced the picture it would draw for you would be horrific.
Robinson and Sims sit at the very centre of that, and while I relate to the latters abruptly cynical doubts I can't but think his project will itself be the subject of multiple statements one day...

I have been thinking that too, weather characters from previous files will pop up in other ones, its hard to notice unless you write every character down from each episode (which I may or may not start doing)
loved this episode, I recently fainted at work and while knocked out I had some of the most vivid dreams I've ever had in my life. don't worry I didn't see any of you're faces!
But how Sims described the dreams was amazing, if I could draw I would fanart the shit out of it!

When I started listening to this one, I was surprised. The black tendrils, the beating glow (heart)- it felt like a vision I had of London during a particularly unpleasent meltdown I had in my youth there. Attempting to study at a London university (I crashed and burned- Southampton was a much better bet), I became convinced that London the city was a great, amorphous mass, like a sprawling cancer, that had reached up and sucked and subsumbed smaller towns and villages into it (which it basically has done). Thus, the original heart of London was becoming overburdened with the extra load as more was added that was now 'London', not 'village x' or 'town y'. Like a morbidly obese person's heart struggling to cope. I became convinced that I was becoming pulled into that heart as well, and if I did not leave I would be sucked in and killed with the rest of the city. Those tendrils were like the unseen forces I 'saw' that were binding me ever tighter into London's morass, with no hope of escape...
But then the archive footage became a story about death predicting, so that was alright.

I can't really compare it to London, but living here has not convinced me that Southampton is a better bet in general terms!

(As someone who also feinted at work last year - I hope you're ok!) I didn't dream, I just felt like my brain was in a washing machine, sounds and voices where just whirling around my head... I like your idea and may do a list of characters too... ...plus some dream fan art... Once I've worked my way through my backlog of actual commissions...

Thanks for the concern, I'm all good now but I did have to spend the night at A&E and then hospital overnight for observation. They suspected a haemorrhage/ brain bleed from the fall and as I did it without any witnesses they don't know how long I was unconscious for and how badly I hit my head (I can only account for 5 - 10 mins)
got some awesome pictures of my brain tho! http://instagram.com/p/BELT85XPAco
I never thought of it like that but yeah a washing machine describes it pretty well!
I was thinking of trying to re-create all archive files myself, making up reports and news paper articles. but alas being an adult means you never have time for the fun things

Gosh, that's scary! I was only out for three minutes, did hit my head on my desk and get some nasty facial carpet burn and hefty black eye though. Luckily nothing serious, just a drop in blood pressure. Hope that everything's alright with you now, plus, awesome brain!
Oh my goodness. Re-created archive files would be amazing! Imagine that as a published book... *whirling ideas*
So many fun things to do, so little time *le sigh*

I was going to post something lecherous in reference to your brain, because that is the sort of joke that would amuse me, but then I decided I didn't really know you well enough.
So I abandoned that idea, but now I can't seem to get the phrase "That's a sexy brain you've got there, would be a shame if something were to... happen to it." which is not so much lecherous as just weird. Also slightly creepy and a bit scary. So I figured perfect for the Magnus Archives area of the board.

its my own fault really, I was the one to post pictures of my brain to a whole load of semi-strangers, I hope we all can become more acquainted as you all have literally seen inside me (heh!)
also I do hope you're not predicting my demise in some way, that would defiantly be something that would happen on the Magnus Forum's
I am quite curious how many lecherous references can be said about a brain? doesn't seem the sexiest of organs.
