Well, they all seem to be having a jolly time in the Institute and Jane has joined the party! I'm not sure what I can really say here. This was a staggering episode, not least because I know it was a gargantuan editing task - so serious applause to Alex for getting it out on time. And to Jonny for cramming so much into just 20 minutes and a very constrained format - high action, tension, touching character moments, laughs, backstory. I have to say I was worried how the format would handle a denouement like this, as it could come across as very artificial but it worked really well. Kudos to Martin for keeping a backup recorder; I wouldn't be surprised if he was a Scout when he was younger. And of course he keeps it for that reason; he's definitely moved up in my estimation So, have at it folks...

That was absolutely amazing, for all of the reasons Oneiros mentioned. Voice acting was incredible. Here are the only original thoughts I can currently express which don't consist of phonetically spelled screaming: -Martin, you adorable man, please be ok. I laughed out loud when he mentioned why he kept a spare one, and the moment of silence afterwards. -Did the evil table make a copy of Sascha? Seriously, just put a tarpaulin over the thing. Artifact storage sounds terrifying. -I was wrong about Jonathan-the-character's belief in the supernatural. I will listen to it again, at some point. When I am ready.

Well... This must have been a nightmare to put together, massive kudos to the whole team! It was really hard to keep up with this one, so i'm sure i'll be giving it a few more listenings before i attempt to put forward any theories...
On a separate note, i am very concerned that the magnus archives is seeping into the real world... I swear to you all, on tuesday night/wednesday morning i moved my dressing gown off of my bed to find a very thin centipede about four inches long crawling across my duvet underneath. I used an id card to flick it onto the floor and then used a boot to crush it. Suffice to say i didn't sleep easily for wondering how it got there and if there were more, with an image of Jane Prentis floating around my head... Why did it have to be set so close to where I live?!

I love love love this episode! I was worried too about how they're going to keep the format with what's happening but it all sounded very natural! I've listened to it twice and am so tempted to listen to it again.
Huge applause for everyone in the team for the incredible work!

Once MAG is finished, I totally expect to see a series about people listening to it that find themselves in supernatural circumstances... some kind of Meta-Magnus Archives XD Great episode! I definitely think it's going to be worth re-listening to this one, as the jumping of viewpoints means I can't recall everything that happened the way I do with usual episodes. I expect Sascha, if she's alive, to be best positioned to stop this - she's surrounded by very dangerous artefacts, thought the idea of a swarm of worms being fought by a killer clown doll seems a little silly! Bravo to the whole team, and can't wait for next week! EDIT: better idea for the name of the Meta-Magnus Archives - Red String xD

I loved this episode! but I kind of hate you guys. I had finally managed to go to sleep early after an exhausting day... but then I saw the notification about the new episode and couldn't resist. 10/10 voice acting job, and I loved the tension combined with some funny moments (I laughed out loud when Jonny asked Martin if he was a ghost). Like kea, I think Sasha has been replaced by someone or something. And I really really hope Martin's alright!
One question though. At the beginning of the episode, what happened to Jonny? Was he bitten by the worms? He sounded fine later, but should we be concerned?
Now how am I supposed to wait until the new episode??

Defiantly worth a second listen through! loved the premise of the 2 tapes. although sad we didn't get to hear any of Martins poetry... that's what must have made it a pain for Alex to edit! So I must not be the only one who's interested by what Jon meant by the Wiggles on the files? does he mean literal wiggle shaped marks on the physical documents? or perhaps a wiggle in the Audio when he tries to record them. interesting to know that some statements do record onto Digital, a nice way of separating the real from the fake. I liked when Jon said "when I read these statements it feels like I'm being watched" clearly speaking about the possibility of supernatural beings targeting onto him. But I also like to think he's talking about us, we don't watch but we do listen going from what DoctorTOC has been talking about, the strange distortion he has noticed in a few recordings was back when Sasha was looking at the table. Also whoever spoke after Sasha screamed didn't sound like her. but was mimicking what Sasha said, so perhaps as we had in MAG 3 having Graham and Not Graham we now have a Not Sasha? really good episode! also looking at the description, this incident happened on the 29th July 2016... make that what you will.

Interesting, I heard that as wrinkles, although that makes much less sense... Oh no! You might be right! That would be terrible! I actually thought it might have been Gertrude Robinson, actually. Totes not dead, but hiding in a pot or something in the artefact storage. I loved the way that Jonathan explained how the tape recordings can only be done on tapes, and how they are clearly all linked (I'm sure I called this!), which means these events are less sporadic, and actually linked.

Oh, oh, oh...!
So much to love about this episode. Great character beats for everyone, very clever use of the format (the two tape recorders and the reason for the second one was a stellar idea), some laugh-out-loud moments and a cliffhanger that's going to keep me on the edge of my seat waiting for next week.
I'm now wondering if we have a Not-Sasha in the archives?

I liked when Jon said "when I read these statements it feels like I'm being watched" clearly speaking about the possibility of supernatural beings targeting onto him. But I also like to think he's talking about us, we don't watch but we do listen This made me smile, as did the bit when Jon said that he "loses himself", neatly explaining the dramatic reading (which itself seems out of character for Mr Sims) - is he perhaps "channelling" the witnesses when he reads their statements?
I noticed the audio distortion too, and I'm wondering if what we're hearing there is a version of the effect that stops the "real" statements being recorded digitally? Whenever it's happened before, it's always been when things are being said that are themselves in some way supernatural; "Ex Altiora" in MAG 4, "Asag, veepalach, the lightless flame" in MAG 12, "some hungers are too strong to be denied" in MAG 14, "I am not for you. I am marked" in MAG 19, "enjoy sky blue" in Mag 21, "Be still, for there is strange music" in MAG 24, and probably a few others I've missed.
It's almost as if the statements themselves have been infected with something that stops them being recorded digitally, and the effect is so strong in certain sections that it's even affecting the tape recorder...

Question for the masses: I see the wiki, and many of you, thought that the voice that finishes the episode was Prentiss. I heard, however, an infested Martin. Did anyone else think that it sounded a little like Alex's dulcet tones?

I'm pretty sure that was Jane. It's the same voice that asked "Do you hear their song?" earlier on, and Martin was just fine then. Also, as the voice came when they opened the trap door, it implies that it was above them. Martin is likely still somewhere in the tunnels.
