Well, we've reached the end of Season 1 and it's been quite a ride! What started with a close encounter in the dark streets of Edinburgh has come to this...
Just old stories and hallucinations, right? How far is the Archivist going to have to dig? And will his team stick by him? Stay tuned for Season 2!
I'm going to leave the breakdown of details to you all and just give a huge round of applause to all the cast for superb performances, to Jonny for amazing writing, to Alex & Mike for their herculean efforts at editing...
And to all you fans who have made The Magnus Archives an astonishingly rousing success! We couldn't have done any of this without your support and avid listening. From me as a Community Manager, it's been awesome to see so many of you contributing, chatting and bringing other people on board, making this a fantastic corner of the Internet to hang out in. There's a lot more to come, thanks to you!

*halfway through*
Oh Sasha.
EDIT 1: I'm about halfway through this episode and tears are streaming down my face. Something about Sasha, and Jonathan's obsession, and Martin's apology... Maybe I'm just tired :/
Also... Millbank Prison? You built your ESOTERIC ARCHIVE ON THE RUINS OF A ROBERT SMIKE BUILDING?! I have a sudden lack of sympathy.
EDIT 2: well, the tears are well and truly streaming now. The two cassettes Jonathan mentions are MAG 24: Strange Music and MAG 26: A Distortion. I hate to say this, but the obvious connection between them... is that they are the two recordings that previously includes Sasha James' voice.

1) That's not our Sasha. That is something that is trying very hard to imitate a person. She/it talks like it has to think very carefully about what she/it is saying. Like she/it is out of practice. Let's hope everyone else notices. (just heard credits - confirmed by meta)
2)Yup, the fact that Gertrude was shot is more terrifying than anything else.

They won't notice (I might be bitter). No one noticed Graham going missing. The only thing that was left of him was an old photograph. Which is a point - why on earth are cassette tapes and black and white film (and, inexplicably, Amy Patel's memory) the only thing that isn't affected by this phenomenon?

WHAT AN EPISODE!!! A round of applause to everyone, you guys were amazing!
The minute I heard Sasha's statement, I thought she sounded way too calm compared to the others. Almost as if she was choosing her words very carefully... WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO HER??
I loved how Martin sounded so regretful about leaving Jonny behind! He's just so sweet!
It's been an incredible ride and I can't wait to hear more about what the Archives are hiding. I'll be here in the corner re-listening to all the episodes again. December can't come soon enough!

Which is a point - why on earth are cassette tapes and black and white film (and, inexplicably, Amy Patel's memory) the only thing that isn't affected by this phenomenon? Graham was pretty isolated - no friends outside his classes. You'd hope the people who spend most of their time with her would notice something off, but certainly not after the triple whammy of Prentiss, CO2 inhalation and Gertrude Robinson's body. I'm not good with case numbers but I'll bet you anything that one of the recordings that went missing was Amy Patel's. I wonder if Gertrude Robinson became so obsessed with something that she completely neglected her job. It sounds like something very similar might happen to Jonathan - if he's not very careful. Elias was useful. A+. Apart from that, now that some of the shock's worn off, well done guys. Echoing Oneiros - excellent acting, brilliant writing. Can't wait for December.

Nope, the missing ones are Strange Music and A Distortion. The latter is Sasha's statement, and the former has her interrupt to discuss the pronunciation of "calliope".

To be honest, to me, Sasha making the statement had a different accent/voice than the old Sasha. The question is, why didn't Sims notice (in universe, of course)

NOT SASHA! I knew it!
fantastic episode. Prentis may be dead but I dont feel any of our archivists are safe...
one thing we know is in the second series we are going to hear about Sasha, its clear they found the tape as we heard it last week. i don't trust Elias but i think were not supposed to... how long have Tim Martin and Sasha worked for the institute? before Gertrude worked there? they never mention working with her. I just assumed Jon brought them with him when he started working.
Great research Cannon, my first job was going to see what statements those numbers were, its awfully sad. also great catch with the prison.
Also im surprised Season 2 is starting this year. I was sure we would have to wait a couple of months give yourselves some time to rest and relax. unless Jon has some Christmas themed horror he's dying to share with us!

Just finished it. Incredible season and final episode, it's been brilliant (and I too got emotional this morning when listening very intently to the statements) now how wild do with think the fan theories will go between now and December the 1st?! Xxx

So much stuff to unpack. Going to have to listen to this a few more times before I get my red string out. What an amazing season. Bravo to all concerned!
