OR: "Stylin'"It's time to lay Hamid's sister to rest and as a prominent family, the eyes of the city will be upon the el-Tahan family & their guests. So, obviously, it's important that said guests are properly attired so as to be respectful *cue funereal fashion montage* And, of course, prominent events can attract unwanted observers - this time, supposedly one of Barratt's minions - so, naturally, any chance of the event passing without incident was on the low side. On the positive side, though, at least the 'threat' was neutralised quickly and Sasha managed to work out some issues she may have... But is it time to finally get to the bottom of Saleh's dealings with the Racketts of Other London? Have we found our antagonists for this season? Will we have a neat, tidy, non-emotional wrap-up of Hamid's and Sasha's backstories? We can but hope...

His "threat" had no chance to do anything before it was annihilated. And I find it very intriguing that now the plot hooks from the prologue kick off. The sighting of the figure was three (?) years ago. So a lot if people may have already forgotten about it. And when the party first saw it, it seems that it was not really important. And I really liked the image of Azu charging trough the garden, over tables to get to the figure and swinging at it with a glowing pink moaning great axe. I think I would be terrified if a full ork with glowing pink armour and that axe charges at me. But I had a good laugh imagine it.

Azu and Sasha, MVPs of this fight. XD
(Poor Alex. The team can decimate his worst bosses in a single round, yet are confounded by old, non-combatant French NPCs.)

Hmmm... I'm fairly sure there is some sort of socio-political statement there that nobody wants to follow down the rabbit hole. But it is so true. Sorry, my inner social justice diplomancer is showing. All joking aside, Azu made my day with her charge through the party. As a socially and sometimes physically awkward person she is my hero and I regret nothing about making my boss and co-workers glare daggers at me for laughing at this episode while in my office today.

Ah, the circle of life. GM torments players, players get their revenge by utterly crushing GM's planned encounter, GM silently plots their punishment, and the cycle continues.

Clearly we respect Alex's craft... just not his Lovecraftian creatures that are surprisingly low on the initiative order...

The podcast has certain traditions, and one of them is the party taking down the most powerful enemies with as little fuss as possible. Much like the 'everyone except Bertie' perception check, the dice know.

Don't get me wrong, I really think you all deserve it to defeat Alex evil bosses easily because of how he makes you all sufffer, but I kind of feel bad for Alex.

Maybe it's not so much old white men as our then predominantly British party just being outwiled by those wily French? XD You could just hear in Alex's voice the progression: "Let's see them take on this, heh heh!...Bloody OUCH, but whatever. Wait 'til this guy attacks...This will be fine...Okay, they're doing better than expected, but I can still do this...Oh dear, this is getting dicey...Oh no. OH NO, NOT AGAIN...Maybe they won't kill him?...He's dead. HE'S DEAD?!...God of Dungeon Masters*, where have I gone wrong? (* I assume the God of Dungeon Masters is one of the Muses, like Calliope or Melpomene, and Alex keeps getting Thalia when he doesn't want to. Or Apollo, who wants some more attention.) I also agree with akelis that Azu's charge also made my day. It was like she went up to this Lovecraftian monster and went "Get wrecked! With the power of LOVE." The closest approximation to the sound her Ominous Axe made for me was the intro bars to Thelma Houston's "Don't Leave Me This Way." I also respect Bryn's/Hamid's fine attention to the party's sartorial choices.

Oh my god, how did I not see it before that Azu is a magical girl. I am so down with this. Also, I would like it on record that I am totally willing to lead the charge against a dragon if that's what it takes to get Sasha healed. And after that I will happily threaten everyone who has ever made her life difficult in order to distract them while she murders them in the back.

Two quick things: 1) Azu working out using her new halfling friends as weights is too adorable for words. 2) I think this last fight is just what the team needed for some emotional healing. Instead of Scream Therapy, one could call it Stabby-Cleavy-Zappy-Shooty Therapy.
