OR: "People are Complicated"RQ3: The Search for Sasha continues as an Azu-topped Grizzop wend their way through the sandy streets of Cairo in pursuit of their errant friend. And Sasha gets a crash course in the 'finer' spirits the city has to offer as her bar companion endeavours to impart the wisdom of the drunkard. And Hamid desperately tries to get his father to listen, in the manner of all the best dysfunctional families, until a spot of subterfuge reveals that people really are complicated and parental goodwill is a tear-jerking thing. But of course, the most important thing is determining what the Azu - Grizzop portmanteau is? And is anyone else just waiting for a Goblin Fastball Special ?

Dammit, we've been trying to get a cameo from Howard Carter in our Cthulhu game for ages and now it sounds like he's going to be busy.

My mind went immedately to Carter when I heard that the guy is an archeologist. And I am really excited to find out how the relationship between Hamid and his father plays out.

Boy, things are going to get interesting fast if Hamid shows off the bloodline. Still, with the path his father is taking, it may be worth him doing that sooner rather than later.
Azzop (you know my vote I guess) searching and drinking was the highlight, of course. It had to go bad, always had to, but the way it did was so very... them. Buzzed Grizzop was never going to avoid trouble, and the small guy's certainly the better target than the giant he's with, but man, just her presence would make me think twice, drunk and angry or not.

Wow that was an episode.
I do wonder why Azzop didnt just immediately go to the seediest bar? I guess they dont know Sasha that well if they didnt go straight to the biggest dive in town. Grizzop failing to resolve the situation in any way was hilarious though.
Also, i mean im glad hes not completely cold-hearted, but that's still not the way to deal with this situation Salah! he needs to suffer the consequences of what he did!

I cannot begin to describe my rage at Hamid's father. I don't think he understands that what he is doing is exactly why his sons are having so much trouble with the whole "growing up into not a garbage human" thing that is already hard. I highly respect Alex for his craft in making me so rage at this clearly missing the point of being a parent situation.
I absolutely love a good tavern brawl. Azu is clearly the gal you want to have your back when you're in a tavern fight. Grizzop is however exactly the kind of ever so awesome drunk that makes the super fun brawl happen and it is amazing.
Unrelated but hilarious, I got an email from my elder (seven year old) son's school informing me thst for some reason he kept singing in class. He was written up for singing "Nobody knows, how cursed I am". I'm equal parts displeased that he got in trouble, and amused that my listening to this while cooking is getting him to listen.

He definitly is like the steoreotypical rich "I love my children so much"-father who Fails over and over again to teach his children responsibilities and that actions have consequences. If he acts like this, it is no wonder, that his children act before they think, becaus if it goes wrong daddy will fix it. That sounds quite funny and your sons seems like a cool guy. I only annoy my co-workers with being anti-social at work because of listening to the podcast and not talking to them.

I think thats where Hamid's experiences, especially in Paris, have really helped him grow up, because he has had to face consequences, and make decisions on his own, where his father can't fix things

Trying hard not to look like an idiot by laughing at my desk. This is hilarious. Also enjoying and agreeing with the Hamid psychoanalysis in this thread. Will be very interesting to hear what people think of how this develops in the next few episodes...

I hope for Hamid that he either can live with a disfunctional Family or that his father finds out that his way is not the "right" way to teach his children valuable lessons for life. The latter will be especially important for the youngest brothers. And I hope that Hamid has grown up enough to tell his father why he is wrong.

I just don't want to spoiler people! I am very happy to not be spoilered here. I kinda like the suspense while waiting for a new episode.

I just don't want to spoiler people! Not getting spoilered is great, but I'm just saying, there are less ominous ways to phrase that, no ellipsis is a good place to start!

So I was going back for a re-listen of the while series and Carter is discussed while at the British Museum shortly before a few skeletons and Zolf failing to cause bone pain. So I'll assume Carter is the "Nobody knows how cursed I am" since Jean-François Champollion was the one supposedly doing translation and that didn't exactly ever go as planned...
